Some look awful, but some make the entire day worthwhile for the quality of pictures we get to see :D

F00k me the bristols on show… one girl has her bangalores spilling over as they dont fit into the dress…. some of the outfits are horrifc. The gingham one is tragic.

If you were looking at it from a male perspective, you’d think differently. Anyway, some of them are no worse than what I have to look at on a Friday/Saturday night so I’ve built up an immunity

I dont like some of the stuff what goes on behind the scean of horse racing. some of the training involves a thing called prodding which is banned but still goes on where they keep the horses awake all night by prodding them so they are more agressive when they race. There also get the horse pregnant then abort it just before the race. This increases the red blood cells and helps the horses musles develop and recover during training and a race.

I agree chickenman there is some unscrupulous trainers in the world of racing, but as for the grand national itself yes it can be dangerous as can any race course. That said the jumps and ditches of the Grand National are far more horse friendly now than they used to be the ditches are narrower and the guard rails have been raised all to make it easier on the horses.
Yes a horse can fall and break something as they can in any race or even running around in their own field or out in the wild a foot wrong while galloping across the plains and you have a broken a leg and a dead horse, it happens.
Horses are fight or flight creatures predictably flight, and racing is merely extending their natural behaviors, wild horses run and jump for fun as well as herd protection, so whats the harm in feeding these natural behaviours.
Not letting a horse run especially in a herd type environment would be more cruel than worrying about the odd accident as long as the owners trainers and jockeys are monitored and not unscrupulous.
