Don’t think you needed to add it either, but there you go.
26 November, 2009 at 12:15 am #424690Lets hope the children wont suffer, people may say stop her benefits, this will without doubt affect the welfare of the children, they musnt suffer for their mothers unrealistic need for a twin birth.
26 November, 2009 at 9:15 pm #424691I have only just found this post so just wanted to add my mite. Y is it considered strange or wrong for 2 ppl who are married and still in love to want to have children? No matter how many? I am the youngest of 12 children and my mother lost 2 sets of twins in between.
I dont really believe that the benefits have anything at all to do with the situation. The condemnation seems to be for the fact that this woman and her husband have ” over produced”. When has having children been a sin? Or a mental aberation? Surely it is only wrong if the children are neglected or mistreated. These children are obviously not either of those things but appear to be well looked after and loved.
My question would be Y did the Sun think that this was a subject for a newpaper article? There are floods, war, hunger and many other things going on in the world that are surely more “newsworthy” than the fact that a married couple have a large family?
27 November, 2009 at 11:53 am #424692The benefits she receives shouldn’t come into it. She receives child allowance and they also get working family tax credits, which as a low income family, they’re entitled to. My whole point was that at least the father of these children does work, and isn’t one of those seen on the Jeremy Kyle show bleating about how he can’t possibly work with all these children, has a bad back etc etc etc.,
These children clearly arn’t neglected or mistreated, there are plenty who are, and maybe the ‘Sun’ would be better employed hurling those kind of stories into the limelight instead of picking on a family just to sell newspapers, because basically thats what it’s about, sensationalising stories and selling newspapers.
Iv’e seen on other sites over the last few days, people openly attacking this woman, saying she should have her benefits stopped  also critisising her on her choice of names for her offspring, although what her choice of names has to do with anything or anyone else for that matter! is totally beyond me!! Maybe some people have nothing better to do and maybe they’d be better employed spending a little more money on a newspaper instead of a comic like the ‘Sun’
27 November, 2009 at 3:11 pm #424693At last …… the benefits were never my real issue with this story nor the general welfare of the kids or their names for that matter. I still think £400 each child for Christmas is ridiculous but that was a personal opinion.
I never mentioned the benefit aspect but, I did respond to others posters comments but isn’t that what debating is about. Exchanging opinion ?Eve brought another veiw to the thread & made some valid comments.
My interest was sparked by the womans decision to keep having kids in the quest for a multiple birth.
Statisiclly it’s not going to happen given that she is on baby number 14 & there is no mention of twins + in the family.
So mad or irresponsible ……. makes no odds to me I haven’t got to look after them.
Made for a good heated debate thread though didn’t it.
27 November, 2009 at 6:38 pm #424694Well, I think I can safely say that this topic has been covered.. Shame the womans bits aren’t!
Was interesting to learn about other people’s opinions!
