Phobias are beyond our control, bigotry is optional.
Therefore, a genuine homophobe is not a bigot.

homophobia • noun an extreme and irrational aversion to homosexuality and homosexuals.

prejudice • noun 1 preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or experience. 2 unjust behaviour formed on such a basis. 3 chiefly Law harm that may result from some action or judgement.

tolerant • adjective 1 showing tolerance. 2 able to endure specified conditions or treatment.
intolerant 2 unable endure specified conditions or treatment.

A homophobe, or someone that doesnt like plain flavoured crisps, or someone that doesnt like spiders, is a bigot.

We all dislike someone or something, therefore we are all bigots.

To the great unwashed (most of you reading this), its very hard to acknowledge this, because the people who run our society make you think that ONLY people who they dont like are bigots.

There is a brave NEW world out there for those who wana experience the reality of who and what we are, take part?

If I suffer from a phobia, be it gays or open spaces it’s a mental condition beyond my control.
If I like a person for years, then I find out they’re gay and I no longer like them, I’m a bigot.

I am prepared, at a push, to consider that spiders might have opinions, Emma, though I am by no means convinced. However, under no circumstances will I accept that ready salted crisps have opinions of their own.

Bigot- A prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own.

Intolerant- unable endure specified conditions or treatment (thats one of yours)

Prejudice- Preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or experience(another one of yours Emma)

DOH- Bigotry is about intolerance NOT about dislike (see your own definition)

I dislike Venison through reason and experience therefore I am neither prejudiced or intolerant or bigoted against Venison I just dislike it

I dislike Leicester City fans through reason and experience therefore I am neither prejudiced, intolerant or bigoted..I just don’t like them

Whose brave new world is it Emma?

Slayer, you never have a preconcieved opinion of someone, that is not based on reason or experience? What is your preconcieved opinion of LCFC? What reason or experience is it based on? You dislike them, but there is nothing to dislike. But it is your opinion that there is.

Does this mean, that if you say there is something to dislike, that being a bigot is someone’s interpretation of what a bigot is, based on the meaning of what bigotry describes?

Do we accuse people of bigotry too easily? Can it always be 100% proven?

    tolerance
noun 1 the ability, willingness, or capacity to tolerate something.

You havn’t the ability to tolerate LCFC, as you dislike them.

    Pikey, forget the crisps.

Emma, I don’t make the rules, you posted dictionary definitions of words, I simply demonstrated the phallacy in your argument. Where does your dictionary defintion state “specified” reason or experience?

Bigot- A prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own.

I dislike Leicester City FC based on reason and experience and in line with dictionary definitions, this makes me neither prejudiced or bigoted or intolerant!

You tell me, I simply post the dictionary defintion- its fun to play with words

Words are used everyday by people who believe their application of that word to the occasion is correct

People are called bigots, because the acussers think its not based on reason and experience, which is hearsay.

For instance, if you say you dont like homosexuality, and homosexuals, someone will call you a bigot. But if you turn round and say, but my dislike is based on reason and experience, then your not a bigot.

EXACTLY, so we must realise that when the white liberals who mainly run our society, accuse their enemies, such as the BNP, of bigotry, that its just hearsay, unless the BNP admit to not liking someone based on reason and experience.

I would imagine they, and everyone else always dislike someone based on reason and experience.

I didn’t say the everyday use of words by people who believed in their application were right did I…. i just said they used them :D

But you know what i mean. Your more inclined to believe white liberals who call their enemies bigoted, than the acussed.
