That could explain why we live in a reckless society, drunken youth, promiscuous women, prisons filled to the brim, rape, buggery, murder and teenage mothers rampant, ceaseless addiction to drugs prescribed and otherwise. I repeat, sometimes there’s a necessity to be cruel to be kind, sacrifice of the few for the good of the many.
Try speaking those words to a life long faithful partner betrayed through blind lust and uncensored sexual depravity and weakness. Or the children tore apart because of the weakness in mind of their guardians and forced to undergo mental fatigue trying to understand WHY ? No less brutal for them ! Now tell me what perversity you see. There was a time when i could say most people would not suffer from such a betrayal in this country.7 November, 2010 at 1:38 am #451849Well I say good luck on drunken youth, we all did it.
You have said in this thread that you would happily lash a woman for commiting adultery Gaz.
Why is that? You really think the punishment fits the crime in this case?7 November, 2010 at 7:58 am #451850Gaz what has our reckless society to do with the stoning of this woman? Our reckless society is what makes you smoke your spliff and brag about it on these boards. Our reckless society is what makes you brag about not paying for your TV licence and thinking it’s ok. But you are NOT the majority, and neither is your approval of this punishment.
I completely understand in different countries there are different punishments. Does it mean we have to agree with it? We live in a multicultural society. Muslim women live in this country and enjoy the english laws and life. Although I have not spoken to any on the subject, the majority of muslim women must feel it is wrong.
Adultry is not illegal. It’s for the couple and family to deal with.
7 November, 2010 at 9:15 am #451851You are entitled to your views Gaz, and we should all be careful about criticising cultures which are not our own.
I just hope that you never personally have to be subject to a system whose idea of justice is as fickle, arbitrary and unforgiving as the one you seem to advocate. I aint dissing your culture – or telling Iranians how to run their own country. It’s just that, as far as I can see, your own self-professed actions on these boards do not really fit in with any country’s laws nor do they promote peace amongst neighbours.
Sorry to be a little harsh mate , but it’s true.
7 November, 2010 at 9:49 am #451852You wanna be in my gang my gang my gang ! Are we talking about the same Gazz here?
Mrs Kent, be a “ luv “ and put the kettle on. :)
Look, let’s just separate what some may term illegal and unlawful. What you are talking about Mrs Kent is statutory non-sense put there to fleece the bar-lambs of their hard earned money and keep them from escaping the fold and you know it. In this great country of ours, the overwhelming majority of married people give an oath, a vow in the name of the “almighty” to remain faithful, of course it is not illegal, it is a transgression against natural and common law. It is unlawful. My “smoking a spliff “hurts no other soul. The tv licence is just a corporate tax that I refuse to be bound by, again hurting no other soul. Both victimLESS acts ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Now . . . . coffee, no milk,1 lump and don’t dally.
My spin on things ~ hurt no other soul ~ deceive no other soul ~ and where possible, give rather than take ~ always seek the truth. . . . Very simple ideology that is geographically boarderLESS.

~ I must have missed that part ~

One question.
To you.
Would you, in the name of justice (your word – not mine..), throw the first stone in the execution of this woman?
To ANSWER YOUR question, NO i wouldn’t ! It might astonish you to know that i do have a sense of compassion, on the other hand, there is no excuse in anyway shape or form to commit adultery. I might suggest you concentrate your energy on educating the world in how to be faithful and lead their lives with a high degree of fidelity. I myself would lash this woman publicly for her adultery, i might add that i do not consider holding hands of another while taken to be adulterous but, obviously the woman lacks dignity if this is what she has done.
And what of the man involved in this adultery Gaz… would he also be lashed or stoned for his part in the proceedings? if not why not? is it just women who sin in your world gaz?
Teapot

I been lashed and stoned many times, never done me no wrong
Of course he should, both in equal measure. The only thing that could reprieve either is if they were tricked into believing there was no consequence. :roll:7 November, 2010 at 5:34 pm #451856yeah but dont the Muslims have a rule that they are allowed to Hit their women ? They call it a ” dance” when reprimanded. !

Well, I would say it’s a brutal punishment from brutal people in a brutal system. You might get a perverse kick out of lashing women Gaz, but most people dont.
