I’m sorry that we won’t agree on this Oss but the fact remains that these soppy sailors (& Royal Marines) only got subjected to some pretty mild mind games. They weren’t thoroughly beaten up … they weren’t starved …. they weren’t subjected to sleep deprivation … they weren’t stripped naked and hooded and made to stand in stress positions for hours on end …. they weren’t repeatedly drowned … all that happened was that they were subjected to some pretty mild questioning and a few very obviously empty threats.
I guess I can accept that the sailors buckled within the first 10 minutes – they’re a bunch of big girls anyway … but the Royal Marines are all taught basic interrogation resistance tactics in training – and more advanced stuff later on before going into an active war zone, so for them to cave in as well is frankly appalling.
Even the US forces are better at interrogation resistance that this, and God only knows I have scant respect for their fighting qualities as it is, but at least they are taught NOT to go on ‘enemy’ TV and make appeals to their fellow countrymen to cease ”this immoral war” etc.
Christ it’s not as if these feeble sailors & Marines were put in front of a ”real” firing squad and blanks fired at them …. now THAT can really scare the shit out of you – literally.
So selling their sillly little stories about how their morning cuppa was a bit cold and the bed was a bit on the hard side is nothing short of laughable.
