You’re a dirty commie, so your opinion doesn’t matter. Carry on slagging off our troops to your heart’s content. Dirty, anti-British commies, the lot of ya! You should be ashamed of yourselves, you dirty, rotten, terrorist supporting yobs! I hope all your families get captured by Iranians & are executed – maybe then you’ll understand the pain & horror those sailors went through. You’re all less than sh!t on the bottom of my boot![/quot

lol oh tommy where do you get your thoughts… with your wisdom and love for ‘Our Country’ why are you not a young British troop…??? did you not make the grade… not cut out to be a officer and a Gentleman…?? As I have the honor of my Brother Serving Both Queen and Country…. an Honor and much respect…. to ‘fight dirttty Wars’

Yes Im for us going to war but for the right reasons and have we really helped or made things worsts… I still unable to fathom… But atleast I can sleep at night for my brother and all the past, present, living and dead soldiers for what I live in today…. with my thoughts ill leave you to rant and pick holes in my statement… sleep easy Tommy …

I got as far as ‘honor’. I will not be spoken to by a Britisher in American-English. You bloody well type to me in English-English, the way god intended, you dirty anti-British commie!

If you hate our soldiers so much, then bugger off back to Iran where you belong. They have every right to sell their story and Iranians have every right to death!

You know, having read this thread through I am left with the inescapable conclusion that these sailors & marines really ought NOT to have sold their stories to the press. Far more ”British” to take a few days UK leave with their families, then re-join their ship and get back to work.

Then I thought “What stories???”. I mean it’s not as if anything particularly serious happened to them is it? They wern’t ‘properly’ tortured or severely beaten up or anything. So they were on the wrong end of a few simple mind games – nothing very spectacular there eh?

”Your friends have told us everything and they have all gone home safely. You will stay here and go on trial unless you confess”. Yeah right …. very scary stuff.

“I heard some blokes hammering on some wood and stuff in the cell next door and thought they were making my coffin for after I was executed.” Oh dear oh dear !!! So you get a few bits of wood and hammer on them next door and a big strong British sailor thinks it’s his coffin and breaks down on tears crying for his Mummy.

Still I guess the bleeding heart liberals can throw their hands up in simulated horror at all this ‘torture’ and of course the Sun readers only look at the pictures of tits anyway.

Exactly dude. Was only a bit of “banter” from the Iranians. I for one can see the funny side of it, even if old poo faced Tommy cant.
Thousands of old boys who were POW’S of the Japs during World War 2 could tell you a thing or two about misery and suffering im sure. I dont think this trip to the Tehran Butlins is in the same sphere as that. I bet those old boys didnt get a lorra lorra cash for their storys either.

But I think the problem lies with the MoD…. not the ‘ Tehran Butlins’ campers…

now they MoD have to proctect them as they have let the ‘ Newspeople’ make more of this than the 15 themselves…..

nothing related to this story but it sprang to mind…. My Grandpa was serving likeothers in the Second World War… and was captured… and gratefully we got him back in one piece…. well kind of… my Grandpas’ left ear he only had half of… I rem when I was growing up I used to asked him what happened to his ear… he said ‘ oh its was German that ripped it off’……. right up until the day of my Grandpas funeral in 1993… I was like ‘Dirtty Germans’… and i brought the story up when at the wake…. whilest we were all remembering stories Grandpa told us…. when I said about ‘ the Dirtty Germans ripping my Grandpas’ ear off….. my grannie laughed and said ‘ the ole Roughe yes it was a German but not in the War… it was in Broomhoose in Edinburgh your Grandpa was being to smart with a German Shephard Dog…!!! lmfao… it was the dug that ripped his ear off not a Nazis….

PB i am rather shocked at your comments here, especially the bit about being on the wrong end of some mnd games.

They were not t know it was mind games, and the fear alone must of been hard enough, and what was just wood been banged too you, was the box they were looking at being buried in. Fair enough it was mind games here, but i don;t think anyone here, or even 95 % of the British public can criticise them for it. After all you have never been in that sort of position.

We do this sort of thing in training and believe me when your mates are doing it to you in training it is bloody scarey enough. To be held by a foreign country and told your going to be tried and executed, i think i would be a bit worried.

I am appalled by the British publics reaction. If i civvy gets captured for a week or so then comes back, they appear on al the tv programs and sell the stories. Why the hell shouldn;t squaddies. Is it not enough they put their lives on the line, that when some sh!t like this happens that they get to tell all.

I say good on them for making some money. The government don’t pay them enough to put their lives on the line anyway

Cmon mate, there wasnt a chance the Iranians were gonna to try them, or execute them, or even lay a finger on them. There’s no way they would have risked the condemnation by other country’s by doing anything to do them.
Common sense should tell people that wasnt gonna happen.

Yeah it might of semed that way from where we sat, but you tell that to the prisoner at the time.

Everything looked so simple and we all knew (or hoped) it would be resolved peacefully. But i doubt it was going through their minds though.

None of us will know cos we were not in their situation.
