What the heck is it? I popped into a jc chatroom the other day and somebody said my IP Address was from the UK. Do I want somebody peeking at my IP ? How the heck do they see the IP. I’m lost and confused so I thought I’d post here to get an answer. I’m not from the UK btw – I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy :lol: :lol: :lol: . Anybody who’s read any post of mine on the current affairs board can attest to that. :wink:
People’s IP Address is logged by every Website they visit I think.
You could be using a Proxy Server though. Or your IP Address might not be static.@American Woman wrote:

AW when you are in the main chat room, the only people who can see your IP addy are the ChatGuides. If another user tells you that they know your IP addy, take it from me they DONT. Like Owen said, they are just trying to wind you up. Who was it who told you that anyway, just out of interest?

Thanks everyone for your replies – :wink:like Owen and Bat says it is a wind up, this is a secure site, your ip address is stored for security reasons, in good old britland we have rules against personal insults and injury so don’t take it personal :) :lol:

if anyone else tries that trick just tell them that atleast your not the one being watched by a blue van full of skin headed thugs lol

Thanks 8)AW … I suspect the US version of this threat is: an old Dodge pickup with a bunch of ”good ‘ol boys” in the back carrying sawn off shotguns and dressed in KKK robes.
They’re not as scary as our hard boys over here …. but ought to be enough to scare off yer average American male.
