Just because something isn’t illegal doesn’t mean that its right!
Agreed…………….just sayin
2 July, 2012 at 4:16 pm #500264I hear what your saying Jen, but the courts will ask for proof that she willing pitted them against each other, just because one was jealous still no reason to play God. And with no proof she played them (bar robbing someones idienty) she did nout wrong. The courts deal twith legal issues not morals, if they did christ ppl would be sued for having affairs etc.
If everyone was sued for lying on the net i’d have feck all to chat to. And Des is right it will open the flood gates for wveryone who was lied to, where would it end.
it must be horrible to have to bury your son over a lyer on the net but his coworker should be sent down and she should be charged with fraud.
I stll cant see how she is an accessary unless she willing knew he’d kill for her, then a mental home is probably the best place for her as that is sick, but just reads like a desperate lonely bored housewife looiking for attention and enjoyed being the centre of a love triangle with went terribly wrong.
Im on my phone so spelling is worse than usual.
You hear everyday on here the row of whos real and whos not, so guess these two men should have known better, dont take a pic and a couple of calls to be convinced but meet the person and not fall for their persona. Heartbreaking as it is, i’d go mad if my manm took my identy but would go even more spare if she was charged over a death she had feck all to do with, lying is one thing but taken a life is completely different3 July, 2012 at 9:56 am #500265@irish_lucy wrote:
Heard about this ages ago, what the mother did was wrong and quite sad but she didnt kill anyone.
She took / used her daughters idienty but thats it – if two men want to fight and kill each other thats their problem, she didnt ask him to kill him.Depends on what someone has done or said as to should they be held accountable.
Take look at all the “firemen” & “policemen” in the room, if your chatting to one of these in the room and you see a fire or crime and they dont ring their collegues do you sue them for pretending to be firemen or policemen – NO, so because the mother pretended to be younger and gave a different picture its still not her fault one man killed another.
Agreed. All the mother actually did wrong in this case was lie, use her daughters indenity and lose the trust of those she loves.. she shouldn’t be blamed for somebody’s death. The men in question are responsible for their own actions, and it sounds like they both had a screw loose to be honest otherwise nobody would of died ovet these womans lies, I would also question the woman’s state of mind in wanting to impersonate/use her daughters indentity because that doesnt sound like the actions of a rational person. I’m sure alot of us have been lied to plenty of times over the internet and never felt the need to go and murder somebody. This is a tragic case and it makes you think twice about who you can actually trust on the internet.
Also, even though what this woman did was very wrong having internet liabilty laws would not have stopped the man in question killing the other man. There is always going to be jealousy which could drive a person mad enough to murder somebody and no law will change that fact.3 July, 2012 at 10:40 am #500266So if she, knowing of his jealousy, spun a web of lies that pushed him over the edge so that he committed murder, she has no repsonsibility in the matter?
As for proof, there are always the transcripts of the online conversations…
3 July, 2012 at 12:04 pm #500267Can’t see how the woman in this case bears no moral responsibility.
If you are in a pub and you wind someone up so much that they thump you, most people would say that the person who hit you shouldn’t have used violence. But they will say that you brought it on yourself. In other words they will have some sympathy for him and less sympathy for you because of the circumstances.
Somehow we seem to think that it is OK to play with people’s deepest emotions and then blame them when they eventually lash out. This is institutionalised in English law where the crime is the violence no matter the provocation. In some ways I can see how the law has to be like this to prevent people saying “he made me angry so I killed him”.
However it is difficult to see that a woman who apparently consciously set two men against each other is not partly responsible for the fact that the outcome was bad. She maybe didn’t quite want to have a murder on her conscience, but she must have thought it was fun to play with the feelings of two other living breathing human beings.
Laughing at their jealousy must have been fun but did they not deserve the same respect and care she would expect to be shown herself?
But no – she is not legally responsible for a man losing his life.
That’s OK then.
:?
By the way the internet thing is just a red herring here surely? You can be a sh*t to people in real life and be a sh*t on-line. Just cos it’s on-line doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. It’s all about human decency folks. “What human decency?” I hear you cry.
Yeah. Exactly.
3 July, 2012 at 3:20 pm #500268you need to watch this documentary to understand what she did, and I also think she is somewhat responsible as well, we’ve all heard of guilty by association and she did encourage and goad the men :? and as a Mother shes a vile disgrace pathetic human being!!!!
3 July, 2012 at 5:06 pm #500269Sounds like the old internet divide is creeping in here. Whats unacceptable in real life is ok because its online.

Wouldn’t the internet be a better place if people did less of that? Lie. Pipe dream of course. If this woman has a conscience than she bears the burden of remorse for the rest of her life. If she couldn’t give a **** then she’s back online with a new identity doing the same old stuff. Its an extreme case of the same sort of **** we see frequently in these chat rooms.
Seems like people type rubbish and get into situations without thinking about the consequences. How could you prove it anyway? Locating via IP isn’t that easy and then you have to prove that the person was actually at the computer.
