I thought the whole idea of a forum was to get everyones different opinions etc about each topic thats posted on here.
Why do some people use insults?? Very childish in my opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion surely…we are not always going to agree with each other but i respect everyone elses point of view…even if i think they are wrong!! LOL.

Someone who is confident in their opinion can express it and feel no need to defend it – explain it yes, but not defend – and isn’t bothered what others think of it. Someone in this position also finds it easy to listen to and consider alternative opinions, using them to test their own opinion and see whether it is still valid for them or needs some consideration. This requires emotional intelligence, and such a person can adapt their opinion to new learnings without feeling the need to defend themselves but seeing it as personal growth.
Someone who is not confident in their opinion or is of lower emotional intelligence sees every opinion that differs from their own as a threat, attacking the differing opinion before theirs is questioned so that they don’t have to defend it. This attack often takes the form of insulting, belittling, deriding and using bad language. What this person cannot see is that once they have done this any argument they may have had has been lost, along with any respect that others might have had for them.
Alternatively they could just be arrogant, self-centred opinionated so-and-so’s who always think they are right and everyone else is wrong.

26 July, 2011 at 4:23 pm #474585I’m sexy when I’m wrong too, but people don’t often see that side of me

26 July, 2011 at 5:02 pm #474587This should be explained in the getting serious thread, if your that confident and sure of your opinion………..
26 July, 2011 at 5:08 pm #474588I am confident in my opinions, I am also prepared to reconsider and re-evaluate them, but I don’t see the point of expressing them in a part of the boards that is generally monopolised by person(s) in the latter group. I’m happy to participate in a discussion with people of an open mind but only a stupid person would repeatedly stand as a punchbag for another chatter who often then pursues their latest target around the boards. Where’s the sense in that?
26 July, 2011 at 5:15 pm #474589The sense in that, would be standing up for what you actually say you believe in……… Remember that……….

I’m happy to express my opinion, I have no need to defend it repeatedly against attack from close-minded people who belittle and deride and no interest in doing so.
