I agree with Nemecho – I like a good ole drink – not physically addicted but do get criticised and judged by others and have even been called ‘a drunk’ even though I’ve never drunk every day or in the mornings and can go without when I want to.  People don’t understand that some simply cannot handle loss and significant traumas that may have occurred in their lives – walk in someone else’s shoes before you judge.  It’s all very well to want to live a long life – unhappy people do not want to live a long life therefore they feel no need to take care of themselves as well as they should – or as well as others who are not as deep caring or as deep feeling as they are desire to.  If you have had a happy life and feel no need to over indulge = then lucky you – not everyone has been so fortunate.

Still waiting. Might be awhile. To the untrained eye, those who are easily swayed, or impressed, when someone presents “evidence” that appears bona fide at first glance, apparently that person presenting that “evidence” is therefore (somehow) “qualified” to comment. It doesn’t work like that in the “real” world of course. Critical thinking and objective analysis is of course non existent when googling the first link and posting it, that matches an argument someone is presenting, or not.

    *Time is money*

    Gerry,

please post evidence that I have ever typed that I am an alcoholic, or have ever stated I am an alcoholic

Ok, here is quite compelling evidence.

I stooped drinking near on 8 weeks ago, overnight, through willpower alone and stubbornness

    There is evidence.

Anticipating your imminent battle of semantics, why do you need to use willpower or stubborness? Willpower and stubborness heavily implies addiction. Do you need to use willpower or stubborness to stop yourself from gambling or smoking crack? No, because you’re not addicted to them.

    Further evidence.

Guess that theory about detox is mightily flawed,

Furthermore on the semantics, you implied the Harvard medical experts were wrong because you didn’t die when you detoxed from alcohol. Well, why should it kill you if you wasn’t addicted? Why must your body “detox” if it isnt toxified?
Toxify = to have a damaging effect upon.

Your words. I rest my case.

Drink up sunshine, it’s Friday night. I’m off for a perve in chat B-)

Further evidence of your addictive personality, wasn’t you supposed to be taking a break from here for some weeks? like you said you would be. Needed to get your fix ? Why not use your willpower and stubborness to stay away ? 😀

    LOL

As I suspected, no evidence at all, just “JC” facts quickly googled, on his 3rd recent ID on this site. Of course it wouldn’t pass muster at the elite university I attended. Which sorts the men, from the boys.
