I use the term religious in the way nemesis does…as pointing to a criterion of sin whihc lies outside my personal judgement. both of us may be wrong, but if we are then the consequence is that anybody is right – whether it be the creep, you, me or Hitler to use three extremely different characters as an example.
It’s all over the place though isn’t it. ‘Marriage’ certainly predates Christianity and therefore it is totally irrelevant to apply christian values, sin, to ‘marriage’. People might have affairs in long term relationships for a myriad of reasons, marriage is nothing special and as an institution is arguably a complete failure anyway. It reminds me of the John Major regime, squeaky clean, moralizing to everyone else while he was ‘at it’ himself and that’s the problem. Plus, you still haven’t explained in any detail why you consider adultery to be a sin anyway.
Will do when I have time Gerry.
Am very busy all evening being a lonely old man for the creep to spin stories about, but your point is serious and will be answered.

Wow what conversations I am reading here, just home relaxing from work..
As I have often stated when have views or opinions, most often will research to see if my views or a similar value, or one which may need more of a basis to research further, close to or near my thoughts before reply made.
Since I saw the New York comment, (ha, and I am one, 16 years legal background) curious as laws are always changed, reinterrupted, or tweaked if you will, to fit form of structure for modern society and use….
Legal definition:
“Voluntary sexual intercourse of a married person with one other then his or her spouse.”
As for what u say with regard to imprisonment, this in most cases seen only if the question is presented to you, “Did u at any time married to your spouse have any other sexual relationships. If say no, after talking an official oath sworn on Bible in Court, evidence presented to show proof therof, then and in that event, you have perjury charges put against u by the Court. Then u can be sentenced right then and there, taken by Court Officer, immediately to jail with no plea, or any Court date set for u.
Adultery in Webster’s dictionary term states,
“violation of the marriage vows.”Hebrew Law, “Crime of unchastity. Wherein a man, or single had illicit intercourse with a married man or betrothed woman, not his wife, punished with fire, stoning, in a spiritual sense, apostasy.
Interesting concept not married yet? How many say, before I get married, going to have that final fling. Haaa.
Roman Catholic version of adultery…
Mark x 11-12. “Whatsoever shall put away his wife and marry another committeth adultery against her. Wife shall put away her husband and be married to another, adultery.
Roman VII2- For the woman that hath husband liveth, is bound by the law. But if husband dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.”
So food for thought, friend, haa. Will work in tightening my ship up as tired too……for my responses further.
22 December, 2017 at 8:38 pm #1083417Don’t worry Linda, its only scep blowing kisses to mizzy encouraging more nonsense on the boards.. most of its been deleted now. As you say we want to see less board spam but sceptical wants to see more motivated by the bulge in his pants I suspect.

Linda, there is an unusual and important definition of adultery given in Matthew which they don’t like to highlight because it goes much further than anyone, of whichever Christian grouping, is prepared to go, apart from some sects like the Doukhobors who castrated themselves. Full marks to the Doukhobors but as a community they died out very quickly, as you can imagine.
The definition is given by Jesus, who said “You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery, but I will say to everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you, for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for you whole body to go to hell” (Matthew 5:27-29).
Now what does Jesus mean? castrate yourselves, men? Don’t touch women?? if you’re married don’t look at women???
I dare any hetero man to look at the opera, Lulu, by Berg, and not feel aroused. You don’t see nudity, you don’t see sex, but you see a woman who knows how to pose ina very sexual manner. Every man who sees the opera Lulu is therefore an adulterer.
So it’s bad news for anyone who has desire for women. no wonder we all fall short of the mark!! Very mysterious.
There is another passage in John in which an adulterous woman is dragged in (naked, according to historians) to be stoned to death, and Jesus is asked whether he is prepared to save a woman as low and debased as this. You can imagine the grinning faces of all the guys as they have a good look at her body and get ready to kill her, good family men all. Read it, it’s the most beautiful story in the New Testament (in John chapter 8, the first 11 verses).
When that is read, then the beginning of an answer to Gerry’s point about what is sin begins to be answered, and how different it is from the Old Testament Law of the Ten Commandments. It’s not a teaching that The Creep would understand, good family man that he is, but I think nemesis would understand it.

22 December, 2017 at 11:31 pm #1083428Gerry, I’ve not forgotten your question, as you may notice in the above post.
I really am busy these next few days, probably too busy even to take notice of what The Creep says, but I will try to find time to answer you. Are you sure you’re interested in the answer though?? You’re not religious.
