Are sirens on police cars meant to be off after a certain time?

    no.

emergencies still happen at night time

I think Sian has a point Tom, and I thought too that they weren’t allowed to use the sirens after a certain time, more so in built up areas.

Yea we know that emergencies happen at night too, but the then traffic chaos is less during the night too. Surely then, they don’t need to use these blaring sirens at 2 or 3 in the morning. Theres been many a night when my sleep has been disturned by them, and like I said, surely at 2 or 3 in the morning, it’s not as necessary as perhaps during daylight hours.

Thanks for that first link by the way DD, I now know where to start my complaint against out great british police force  (nothing to do with the sirens, another beef I have with them)
