I’d ban any mention until Dec 1st

The child is a king, the carollers sing,
The old has passed, theres a new beginning.
Dreams of santa, dreams of snow,
    Fingers numb, faces aglow.

    Christmas time, mistletoe and wine
    Children singing christian rhyme
With logs on the fire and gifts on the tree
A time for rejoicing in all that we see

A time for living, a time for believing
A time for trusting, not deceiving,
Love and laughter and joy ever after,
Ours for the taking, just follow the master.

    Christmas time, mistletoe and wine
    Children singing christian rhyme
With logs on the fire and gifts on the tree
A time for rejoicing in all that we see

A time for giving, a time for getting,
A time for forgiving and for forgetting.
Christmas is love, christmas is peace,
A time for hating and fighting to cease.

    Christmas time, mistletoe and wine
    Children singing christian rhyme
With logs on the fire and gifts on the tree
A time for rejoicing in all that we see

that was xmas once upon a time ..it isnt any longer

Well I will probably volunteer to work some of the day as the kids will be with their dad.

Love the run up to the big day & can’t wait to put the tree up. Same tradition every year. Always the Saturday before 25th & the kids “help” decorate it & we listen to the Christmas CD.
Then ….. when they have gone to bed I open a bottle of wine, strip the tree & decorate it again properly! :- *such a snob about my tree*

ha ha ha I do that too  kids have no idea how to decorate a tree, everything has to be done to perfection

I quite agree with what has been said about the run up starting way too early. My memories as a kids was quite often the tree never went up til the 23rd sometimes christmas eve …. well it was quite often “borrowed” from the local estate. :-

Mum always bought a wooden box of satsuma’s from the greengrocers. They were the sweetest yummiest ever. My sisters & I got through them at a rate of knots. That along with the walnut shells all over the carpet, where dad has sat in his chair devouring nuts til his hearts content much to mum’s frustration & our pain when we stood on them.

I saw that Asda were selling the wooden boxes of satsuma’s last year but they were extortionately expensive & I bet they wouldn’t of tasted as nice as the ones we enjoyed as kids.

Happy days :) Funny how it’s the simple things I remember about Christmas as a kid.
