……..So much for innocent until proven guilty, there is NO evidence to suggest that they were involved in her disappearance………..
Interestingly enough there is also NO evidence to suggest that they were NOT involved in her disappearance either. ….. other than the fact that (by their own admission) they abandoned her and the two younger children so that they could go out and enjoy themselves.
We are all only left with a ”balance of probabilities” type argument.
It isn’t too great a leap of the imagination (figuratively speaking) to assume that if they were both prepared to negligently abandon their children, then they could easily have been involved in much much worse and are frantically trying to cover it up.
english law is based on innocent till proven guilty
carry on reading the sun13 January, 2008 at 1:04 am #302156Your right the law in this country states ‘Innocent untill proven guilty.’ However there is alot of evidence (maybe not concrete) to suggest the McCanns are responsible for Madelines death/dissapearance.
1. The Correio da Manha newspaper claims that tests carried out by UK forensic experts have proved conclusively that the Renault Scenic, hired 25 days after Madeline’s disapearance, contained small amounts of the infant’s bodily fluid that may have been due to Madeline decomposing. Dispite the McCanns claiming that Madeline was never in the car.
2. The fact that large quanties of Madelines hair was found in the car boot that suggest Madeline was decaying, only skin samples would be needed for this evidence to be concrete. And remember this hair was found in the hire car 25 days after her disapearance, and madeline had never been in the car. Police say that it could not have come from a blanket or anything else, and that it must have come from her body.
3. Police have found there is also evidence from emails that the McCanns have sent and recieved allegdly off Gerry’s Lap Top.
4. When Kate allegedly started to scream ‘They have taken her, they have taken her’ Police are wondering why Kate thought Madeline had been snatched and not simply wondered off.
5. Apparently a woman, saw a man carrying what appeared to be a child in a blanket nearby or coming from the McCanns appartment.
However dispite the evidence, or lack of evidence whatever you want to call the above information, lawyers have told Kate and Gerry McCann that police do not have a strong case against them without a body. So the longer Madeline stays missing or untill they find her body the McCanns may stay suspects, unless other evidence comes to light.
13 January, 2008 at 8:21 am #302157just money in the bank. i found it interesting, regardless of the media hype, when they flew back into this country, and the interveiw at the airport, the mother could only look at the floor not into the camera. Board of directors post anyone? £50,000 per annum, qaulifications……you must be a friend of the mcgans related to them or related to there 2nd cousin once removed from there mother in laws half sister with the hunch. perhaps the police should start to look at the finances of this lot b4 and after and more importantly, the so called tapas 12 or what ever the media call them, ask your self this, how much money would it take to keep your mouth shut.
13 January, 2008 at 10:33 am #302158Take a look at this report from Sky news and click on the video link for an interesting view of the tapas bar. Of course as King of Spin Clarence Mitchell would say: “it,s all totally ludicrous”
link13 January, 2008 at 10:58 am #302159The journalists who write this stuff say they give a balanced view of events, but all news is sensationalist these days. The more controversial the better. Happy and bland doesn’t sell.
A sports bag goes missing, and it is large enough to have hidden a child. The appartment is owned by someone called McCann, but no relative. There has been no progress in finding Maddie. That is really all they say.
The Media will always be able to manipulate public opinion. It is up to the public to recognise that they are being swayed.
13 January, 2008 at 12:05 pm #302160Absolutely right Minim … and the McCann spin doctoring team are well aware of this fact too.
Probably this is why they are desperately trying to keep this story alive in the Media by issuing an assortment of stories specifically designed to get the Media’s attention.
OK they say it is to assist in the hunt for Maddie …. but I sometimes wonder if they REALLY believe that she is still alive. Not many other people seem to believe this and in fact the generally held view (including my own) is that the McCanns had a major part to play in her ”disappearance”.
Of course there are those who claim that because there is no ”proof” and they are ”innocent until proved guilty” the McCanns are simply acting as ‘normal’ parents would in wanting to find their child.
But as time goes by and there are STILL no sightings (or anything else) of Maddie …. doubts continue to grow.
13 January, 2008 at 12:14 pm #302161Some do please feel free to correct me if i’m wrong, i’m sure they will. But,,,,,having watched the link that Bat posted, the Tapas bar was! further away than anyone before had stated, 80 steps I think were counted from the bar to the apartment, that’s a fair walk and would take longer than a ”couple of minutes”.
When the McCanns were walking away at the end of the clip, her clutching Maddies toy, make up perfectly applied, smiling, chatting, swinging arms,,,,,it hardly seemed to me to be the actions of such distraught parents,,, or maybe it is just me

Until placed in this terrible situation, how do any of us know how we personally would react. We have seen others in similar situations react totally differently to the McCanns. That does not mean that they are guilty of having murdered their own daughter, or of accidentally killing her and hiding the evidence. Their desperation to find their daughter is in the spotlight because of the intrusion for good or bad of the media. This is most certainly the age of Big Brother (and I mean the book).
13 January, 2008 at 3:07 pm #302163I agree that everybody reacts in a different way to ‘stress’ or the loss of a child. However, this is not my central point.
I do have issues with the apparent ”commercialisation” of the ‘hunt for Maddie’. I just can’t reconcile the really slick Media operation; the very large amounts of money involved; the almost ‘celebrity status of the sainted McCanns; with two ‘innocent parents who have lost a child.
Not a day goes by without yet another headline grabbing ”story” almost all of which emanate from the McCann’s spin doctors.
13 January, 2008 at 4:36 pm #302164But if this is engineered by spin doctors, then maybe the McCanns are being manipulated so others can make loads of money out of a tragedy.
This society becomes more americanised by the day.
