This was a story emanating from the infamous firm of Spanish detectives (employed by the McCanns) and released to the Media by the spin doctors (again employed by the McCanns).
You will recall that the spanish detectives “knew” where Maddies was and who had abducted her some time before Christmas and were going to release this information “within days”. Since then we have heard ………………………… NOTHING !!!
This is just another “story” designed to keep the detective agency earning fees and to keep the sainted and entirely innocent McCanns in the Media spotlight.

Your telling me that if two girls of that age went missing within a 120 miles radius in the Uk, within 6 months of each other, that the Police would’nt be considering that the two might be linked?
Of course it’s something the Detectives will be following up, and rightly so.In other cases where the Police are out of leads or clues and the trail has gone cold, they sometimes have to wait to see if the person will strike again, so it’s logical that they are following this up.

There is also the fact brushed under the carpet of the child that went missing BEFORE maddie and was never found.
17 January, 2008 at 9:55 am #302178The only way the police will ever find Maddie is if her parents tell them. At first I believed their story but after all what has been brought to our attention recently I am being to think that they accidently killed her by sedatives and got rid of her body. You see Maddie had trouble sleeping, and police have repeatedly asked the McCanns if they overdosed Maddie.
Evidence found in the boot of the hire car suggested this, as a large amount of hair and bodily fluid was found not something that could be transfered by another item ie clothing or a blanket – police think it came form Madeleine herself. The only reason that the McCanns have probably not been charged is because untill the child is found – there is no substantial evidence to convict them.17 January, 2008 at 6:01 pm #302179This apparently is a “common” occurrence in Portugal. Lots of small children go missing and are never found again. A thriving white slave trade to North Africa? Possibly. A paedophile ring involving other countries using Portugal because of their ineffective policing methods etc? Probably.
Whether the McCanns had anything to do with Maddie’s disappearance or not, the fact remains that a lot of children have gone missing over time, it is not an isolated incident. So the question remains, why haven’t the combined police forces from all the countries involved managed to work out where they are being taken?
The thot plickens!

The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the image had been passed to police.
A press conference will be held by Mr Mitchell in central London laterYeah … right !! No surprise where THIS story came from then eh?
22 January, 2008 at 9:26 am #302182This latest version of events by the ever reliable witness Jane Tanner gets more bloody ridiculous every day. First she says she didn,t see his face, then she said it was Robert Murat, now she says it was this picture.

out the appearance of the man now!! His probably changed everything about himself
now!I think she was shipped over too Moroco, and god knows where she is now, I dont think
shes dead, but definetly living another life in another country. Lets hope Im wrong..22 January, 2008 at 10:11 am #302184Dear Clarence,
I was holidaying in Portugal last year sometime in the spring (I’m 78.3% sure it was in May when little Maddie McCann went missing) and I remember seeing this bloke hanging around the beach and shops begging for money and looking ….. well …..er …. suspicious.
Now that I’ve seen the photofit drawing done by your very expensive – sorry I mean excellent – FBI artist, I am 68.72% sure that this was the man I saw (I could say that I was 80% sure if this helps).
I desperately need some press publicity for my new boutique in Skegness called ”Diva’s – R – Us” which caters for the larger person – size 25 and upwards – and I wonder if we could do a deal?
If I come forward and tell everybody that this was the man that abducted your client’s child, would you in return mention my boutique to all of your worldwide Media contacts? If it helps I could also say that I might have seen him hanging around with that Robert bloke that the Police suspect – you know the guy who lives with his Mummy and looks a bit …..well …… er ….. suspicious.
If you can’t use my ‘story’ then can you send me £50,000 from the millions that the Maddie fund has in the bank so that I won’t tell everybody what I really saw?
Yours expectantly,
Mavis from Skegness
