The boards had loads and loads of posters back in the day.
As for the rooms (well forum 3 anyway) it’s the negative gutless fuckers who are too scared to put their own pics up probably cause they’re complete mingers, and that spoil chat for everyone else, gobshites who wouldn’t have the guts to say stuff to someones face, or are simply psychopaths
There certainly were loads of posters back in the day – but do you remember the tone of most of those posts? Is that something you’d like to see back?
Martin a lot of those kind of posts were in the infamous STD thread. Yes it got a Wee bit out of hand in the end, but some of the posts that Charles made about Geoff were just hilarious.
We used to have people like Volskie, lambrini girl, morticia, owen Kash, (bless him), Tom…where the hell are you Tom? I want your Sunday morning rants back!
So many other good posters who’ve just vanished. Such a pity because they were some characters. Yes there was the odd row on the main forum, but you can’t censor people too much, (well technically it’s your site so you can do what you like lol) .
This site is for over 18,s, and whilst no one is advocating blazing great rows, with personal info being posted all over the place, maybe a bit of ‘leeway’? For want of a better expression?
If all the threads are about the weather, what people had for dinner, what they did today, etc, people will be bored out of their skulls.
Suggestion: make a section SIMILAR to the old STD thread, members only, where things can be a bit more ‘relaxed’, so if people want to swear, (not the C word I hate that) and maybe have discussions in a more relaxed section of the boards they can. Obviously it needs to be moderated daily, preferably, to keep an eye on it. Is Charles still about? Would he do it? I miss him on the boards.
What does everyone else think? Ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
I love debate/discussion on contentious issues. Different points of view are always interesting to read.
Many however, seem to be unable to accept an alternative opinion to their own and instead of just debating the issue at hand, quickly slide into the land of personal insults, often re-hashing the same rubbish time after time after time about something that happened 97 years ago. The same is true in the room as well as on the boards.
i used to love reading the boards but they seem to have died off slowly
same as i used to love chatting in the room past a couple of hours late at night, now i tend to stick to chatting to a brief few in pm becuase you have the plonkers posting ppl addys in the room over and over again or having the same old slanging matches at each other night after night lolWasn’t there a mass cull
Yes there was, but…this is a new board, new start and all that. So anyone previously booted into outer space is welcome back. Don’t think they’ve accepted the invite though.
There used to be posts in serious, and polls and off topic and jokes and tests quizzes and games. It all trailed off gradually now it’s just forum 3 in the main and that’s like getting blood out of a stone recently
