24 April, 2012 at 9:10 am #494060I dont want to get into a row with Handy ( again? :D ) but i have to disagree. I truly believe that this country did better under Tony Blair than any other pm. Margaret Thatcher and John Major destroyed the country and Labour put it back on track. I was horrified and worried when Conservatives came back into power.
Tony Blaire also came closest to “sorting out” the Northern Ireland problem than any other PM and was the only one who genuinely seemed to care about it. He, because of his landslide majority when first in office, didnt have to, nor was willing to, take orders from either side of the conflict.
I would like to point out that this is solely my own opinion and I would never, at any time or in any way, denigrate any one elses opinion, however different from my own.
I may not agree with someones elses views but I would fight to the death for their right to hold those views..

soz Eve, but I disagree – however I do agree with the Northern Ireland problem. I have relied on my savings and my forth-coming private pension to live – Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have put me in debt, and I now do not get my pension until I am 55, not 50 as it should have been when I took it out. A lot of expats have had to return to the UK because of Labour! Not to mention my own company’s tax’s shooting through the roof! Amongst other things allbeit trivial.

Blair and Brown have been a disaster for this country, but have we ever had a PM who wasn’t?
Same could be said for every country in current climate. Noone has money.
