Spent an hour yesterday and an hour and a half today in a quest to obtain some Euros.
That’s in a town or 30,000, with 3 banks plus a post office (out of euros). I did get some in the end.I’ve never seen what the problem is with us adopting the euro, it would make things so much easier. OK, maybe right now would be bad as the pound is probably still low against the euro (we don’t know that though, it could go much lower or it could recover), but in principle we should be ready to join.
Other countries were willing to give up their currencies to join the euro, I don’t see what’s different about Britain.

I’ve got national pride but that doesn’t extend to the currency, it’s just something we use to buy things. Most of the pounds we spend are exchanged by means of plastic cards or direct debits anyway.
You shoulda tried Tesco B55, they had loads :)
It’s paper is all and worthless as such… currency is merely a promise so why the common currency in the first place ?
Why didn’t you just go to the local post office? Takes about 5 mins to get Euros there. Alternatively, use your bank card abroad like I did to get cash out of their machines.
