So the source of your 68% is an unknown radio presenter on some sports radio station.
Something like 5 to 6 million people tune in, very unknown…
If you think he works for the world’s best selling newspaper you’re probably wrong considering the population of the UK. It just shows how wrong your statistics are.
He said his newspaper is the most sold on earth.
Most of our exports go to Europe, we benefit from EU legislation such as the minimum wage and maximum working time directive
Why do we have to give the eu £39 million everyday to have that?
the UK benefits from collective political strength by being part of the EU.
Who is better capable of spending your money, you or someone else? Meaning, wouldn’t it be better to spend our collective £39 million that we pay every single individual working day that we live and breathe via taxes on us rather than paying expensive suits to do so in 5 star accomodation, travel and wages?
If we need a prison, and we do, shouldn’t we decide to build one with the daily cost of say £39 million to do so?
1 in 3 Hospitals are set to close (again political anylysts and other hospital workers in high places on talksport, and my good friend who’s an orthapedic manager in a midlands hospital), again, wouldn’t it be better if we used some of that £39 million that we pay every single individual working day that we live and breathe via taxes to save those hospitals and peoples jobs? Some of us are still proud to be English, how dare those marxists allow a foreign multi-national flag to fly over our land.
When push comes to shove, i’ll be the one pushing you off the white cliffs of Dover.

Most of our exports go to Europe, we benefit from EU legislation such as the minimum wage and maximum working time directive, it’s easy for UK citizens to work, travel and study within Europe, certain UK projects can get EU funding, footballers from the EU don’t need to go through lengthy applications for work permits and of course the UK benefits from collective political strength by being part of the EU. For example, when the USA put illegal tariffs on imports of foreign steel, the EU nations collectively stood up to America and forced it to back down.
=D>
We’ll need that political strength to tackle China too. :wink:9 November, 2006 at 2:28 am #247592We NEED the political/economic strength provided by our membership of Europe to survive. The worlds changing fast. China and India are rapidly expanding economies, and their political/economic clout will increase accordingly.
Without Europe, we’re a little fish in a big pond. And if you believe the US cares about the UK economy, you’re living on Planet Peanut!
9 November, 2006 at 2:34 am #247593I’m not looking for a argument either ruby. I was merely stating my views.
Regarding a world that doesn’t care; we live in a capitalist society and capitalism relies on exploitation. It may not be what we want, but it is what we have.

I was listening to talksport the other night, and they were explaining that “we” (new labour) have signed a treaty which means the americans can extradite any single one of us to be tried for terrorism if the american government “feel” we have done wrong, all they require is suspicion  completely bonkers, and in return we cannot do that.
This poxy government have NO backbone, they have signed over £39 million of our money EVERY single day to brussels, and now this.
For heaven sake someone wake me up from this living nightmare.
9 November, 2006 at 9:57 pm #247596We would have lost those industries anyway. That’s why what’s left of the steel industry in the UK is mostly focused on specialist products. If countries can import coal, steel or other resources at a cheaper price than the UK offers then it’s inevitable that British industries will go into decline. That’s the nature of global competition. That’s also why Western farmers receive government subsidies because they can’t compete with foreign farmers.
Emma, in all honesty, using “Talksport” as the basis of your argument is pretty lame even by your standards. What sh1tty tabloid does that Jon Gaunt work for then? The reason why I doubt he works for the world’s best selling newspaper is because the USA has a population of 300 million, India has a population of 1 billion, China has something like 1.5 billion and the UK has around 60 million. So I think he’s talking crap.
10 November, 2006 at 12:56 am #247597Jon Gaunt has a column in The Sun newspaper MrBigStuff
