Finally yesterday I posted my ballot papers off.

Still not 100% sure but not to vote was not an option.

Well in 48 hours or so we will all know the peoples choice.

the right-wing press – The Sun, The Express, the Mail – have gone overboard on anti-Corbyn scares and smears today.

    Surprise, surprise.

I at first hesitated to say something through these discussions. Then decided, what the hell if I could give you real insight to the political arena being once in the running for office in my County and community maybe other things to think about.
Most often those who seek political office want change. Focus some times on personal agendas or those of others to sway you to their side. What I have seen and observed, “You help me, I help you.” This is the first method so their voices are heard. Then media gets involved most often seeking readable stuff which interest the public eye. Of course they are not going to offer the boring stuff, no interest. Things that really matter not seeming important are important, get lost in the shuffle of cards.
    Consider this if you will:
No leader will ever be perfect. It is my belief again usually taking over where some one else left off and cleaning up messes presently coexisting is difficult. Your own agenda focused on and the old stuff included as well. So stuff gets swept under the carpet and left behind never resolved. Looking for any new leader to guide you into change has to be looked at as a complete package. May not be perfect but has to include more items then just the one item you like or want the most. Have to consider benefits of the package for future goals as well just not the present goal, or the one item seeking the most.
Difficult to write it out for all to truly understand, but if I was in a public speaking forum you would. I was the “voice” for my people in my community of many people. Had some legislation changed for the better for my community. Still speak to political advisors and advocate. Not easy, you want to make change you do something about it. You tell your leaders what your needs are, not listen what is their personal agenda which leaves important things out benefiting you and your communities. Trust me office not easy. Seeking office difficult too! Weigh out everything, not just one thing of interest or concern at the present time. Future needs too….

    Linda,

US politics and UK politics are not the same

but you make a good point.

Politicians are just people, and if they’re serious about things (other than self-enrichment) they have to engage in the art of compromise (usually) and know when to act decisively.

Still, we have different ideas of what is good for people. May and Corbyn have very different approached to what is a good society.

But when we say ‘do you trust’, that also implies incompetence and a number of other things.

May had tremendous trust in ehr competence, and she’s lost a lot of that during this campaign.

Corbyn had a tremendous trust in his ineptitude and inconmpetence, and he’s also lost a lot of that in his campaign.

I so very much agree as politics is very different in our Countries. Learning about and understanding when you listen or read about others in political spot lights around the World provides different perspective. Political agendas are different. Bottom line no matter again where we live I stand by our Constitution “We the people, by the people, for the people.” When I advocate my voice is strong and heard I am told by politicians I personally deal with. However, not always easy to make that change.
Hope goes well for your voters and leadership.

P.S. Thanks for your replies. People may not say nice things about you some times, but what I have learned in a short time here you seem to be very intelligent and kind and responsive to inquiry of others. People may not always like what you say but the battles back and forth are interesting to say the least. Thanks
