I’m gonna try being serious for once in my life. I haven’t found the love of my life, but this is the story of my first love.
I had an email from someone one day, she had emailed me because my addy was similar to a friend of hers. I wrote back to tell her that she had emailed the wrong person and we started keeping in contact. We had been emailing for about a year, had loads in common, and gradually we realized that it was more than just friendship and it was also beyond the stage of having some feelings. Or so I thought.
I met up with an old friend by chance a few months later, nothing happened then and nothing has happened since – I never expected it to – but I used to have feelings for this girl and when I saw her again, it was like being at school again and admiring her from afar but being too shy to do anything about it.
So that made me realize that it wasn’t love as such. I think it was more the idea of being in love and being loved by someone more than anything else.
Sad Bastard!

14 October, 2008 at 6:32 pm #378847met Mr Blokey when I was on a night out with friends in Glasgow. Got talking to him and his friends and he really made me laugh.
Went on a date the following week and he was half cut when I met him – he’d been out with his mates, wasnt impressed at all. Decided after it I wasnt seeing him again.
Anyway he persisted so we went out again – he didnt drink a drop and had me in hysterics all night. Just grew from there.
Got engaged last Christmas and get married next August. Hes the best thing that has ever happened to me. Patient, kind, funny and accepts the good and bad in me. I couldnt be happier.

1 August, 2010 at 11:50 pm #378849Fantastic thread this.
Quality throughout from ace posters, and that pats really brought a tear to my decrepit eyes.
She’s still a complete bit.ch of course. 8)Mine was met while we were both in other relationships. The connection was apparent but no one in my or her world does the dirty on a partner. Eventually the earth span round enough revolutions and the natural order of things presented itself . . . . . . fank feck.
I would say this – if you are 95% sure that your partner is the right one – then you’re headed up sh1t street without a canoe and get the hell out of dodge immediately. The numbers aren’t even nearly close enough. Either you know it or you don’t.
Simples.
