i suppose it all boils down to the old saying..what IS love???….way to many definitions to actually answer that question . i know i have been extremely lucky. the first time i saw mr pats i thought wow!.lol. them days it was the butterflies and excitement. we have grown together….i was 17 he was 21. we have been through some hellish times..the worst losing our eldest son in a car crash 8 years ago. but what could have ripped us apart bonded us tighter. we have had periods were we didnt have the proverbial pot to pi.ss in. i can remember times we have searched down the back of the couch for loose change lol. we both come from big families and have watched our siblings marry.divorce and re marry…in one of my brothers cases 3 times now. we have fought like cat and dog many many times but never once said i hate you.or i wish i had never married you. our favourite saying in the bad times was always.in a year from now we will look back on this and smile. i honestlly cant imagine my life without him in it. and like shaz.we still say i love you every day….hold hands and kiss in public. we have 3 beauiful children and 6 grandchildren who light up our lifes.
there IS someone out there for everyone.wether you meet them at 17 or 70. i was lucky and met mine early.A beautiful tribute to your man and your marriage, Pats.

I have never been more sincere in my life when I say that Ruby and Cath deserve the best that life and love can offer up. Any man lucky enough to have either of them on his arm or in his bed, should get down on his knees and thank the gods for real womanhood..warm..witty..kind and with hearts bigger than my head (which is constantly inflated)
Feckit..I curse the day I was born heterosexual! :twisted:cheers Esme :) Now put the Cilla teeth away dear. hehe x
Ho..fannybaws..I borrowed them aff a donkey as it happens..the hapless ass is having tae sook his carrots tae death. Much like yersel wi’ a macaroon bar!

Im as in love with the idea,of love as the next lassie. Maybe im a cynical auld k.unt cos my man Never left me. so i cant beatch about life ” after him” . maybe as a widow, i miss him dearly. but will NEVER admit to needing someone. as its a sure sign o weakness ..
I miss him that much,, its actually sore to admit it..
but then,, im NOT weak,, im known as a strong beatch.. so i dont miss him at all ” NO SIR!”
still rather have a remote control and unlimited macaroon bars though !

9 October, 2008 at 11:11 pm #378834Many years ago when I was a boy I once got chatting to a girl called Sam on my CB radio.
CB Radios were all the rage in those days of the early 80s and everybody seemed to have them, either at home or in their cars.Although Sam and I both lived in the same town, we had never met and were complete strangers.
Once we started chatting that didn’t seem to matter and we got on really well together.
We’d spend hours each night talking about ourselves, laughing and playing our favourite records to each other on our CBs.She told me she was blonde with blue eyes and liked 1950s rock n roll and was a big fan of Brenda Lee the singer.
I was eager to know everything I could about her because she liked me as much as I liked her and that feeling was new to me.Sam and I carried on chatting for about three weeks before I asked her if she fancied meeting up.
I was a slow burner lol.
It was an eveningin town I won’t forget.
When our eyes met for the first time we both stood there with our mouths open just looking at each other. It was like a film.
“Sam, is that you?” I said.
She just smiled, ran over to me and gave me a hug that seemed to go on for ever.
We became inseperable from that moment on.A month, and several dates, later we had a romantic few days at the seaside together.
We’d taken a tent but overnight the campsite had flooded so we asked around at the camp site office and they let us have a caravan.
What a weekend that was.Even to this day I’d say she was the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen and I always remember those days as the happiest of my life.

This aint a piss take. I loved my CB 8)
I remember those days so well
Had the same relationship with a lad called Andrew, He used to play his guitar to me and sing me Billy Bragg songs (lol Shaz, bolt from the blue with you this morning) We lived in the same town, different estates and did meet up after speaking to each other for about 3 weeks. We went out for a few months, he was the love of my life and my heart still misses a beat when I hear his voice or someone speaks his name
My best friend (I use the term loosely) at the time, thought it would be good fun to try and seduce him, so she did and he fell for it. Broke my heart it did. I never spoke to either of them again.
She did the dirty on him 10 years later after giving him a dogs life, karma innit12 October, 2008 at 9:12 pm #378840met the love of my life when i was 18 in a pub. i had just moved into my own flat with my then best mate and we were in the local pub every night, and day when not at work
this bloke asked me to dance to the juke box! i told my best mate to tell the old man to fook off!!! he persisted mind and a few weeks later we ended up sitting with him and his mate. i was in hysterics, he was hilarious. he asked me to walk him home, so i did! fell in love with him then and there. we had 6 months of laughs, tears and loads of booze
it got complicated when i told him i loved him, he was 32 and thought i was to young (he used to sing that stupid song, you know the one, young girl get out of my life..) he’d just got divorced and it was only supposed to be fun.
i got pregnant he couldnt handle it and it ended.
god i miss him :(
still see him now coz our daughter is just getting to know him now and its hard but we’ve both moved on now -
