My son had a sex education class in Middle school (around 10 or 11 yrs old) I wished at the time I had explained things in a little more detail before the class.. His Physical ed. Coach gave them a book to read (with pictures) and at the end they had to take a quiz. They of course seperate the boys/ girls for the class. When he brought home his “Vocabulary list” to study, one of his words was “ejaculate” which i tried to explain using all these technical terms. I could see I was either confusing him or grossing him out. Then his face lit up and he said “ohhh, you mean like when you pee?” (ummm..not quite)

Tell kids the honest truth whenever they ask- me 10 year old daughter asked me if it hurts “the first time you do it”- after telling her I never felt a thing, had a good sit down chat with her about everything from A-Z, soon had the other 2 in the room n it became a family discussion.

Bit worried when the missus asked “whats an orgasm” though

Kids seem to know earlier and earlier about the physical side of sex (what you stick where) – helps if you explain the emotional side to them so they understand whats involved.

And it’s important to use the real terms! I remember kids being all confused when they had asked their parents what some nicknames they’d heard really ment and the parents weren’t actually spesific when they answered.

My friend (this time another one) in the age on 11-12 didn’t know what’s mölli. Well that’s a Finnisn nickname for sperm  but her mother had just said that it’s something white that comes out of a man when his having sex… :? My friend didn’t know what to think, she felt disgusted when she told me. I had to tell her that it’s usual for a man to ejaculate. She responded: Oh you mean sperm? I know what that is, I thought it was something else…just didn’t know what
