Hoots mon … there’s a moose, loose, aboot my hoose

Instead, upon opening the front door, I was greeted with scenes of chaos.

Senior management was stumping up and down the hall in gumboots, waving an umbrella around and daughter was moaning about not having had her supper.

It seems tha ”Gwenny” had made another appearance in the kitchen whilst I was out and whilst Mrs PB was cooking supper.

Apparently she ran from the kitchen screaming the place down, grabbed her umbrella from the hall and started waving it around like a Jedi warrior.

The gumboots??? She said was scared that “Gwenny” would bite her feet and the gumboots were to protect her.

I ask you …. what a carry on over a poor little harmless mouse!!!

The best bit came after I had calmed everybody down and restored some semblance of order into the place….. an hour later !!! Daughter was fed and had gone off to bed and senior management had gotten off her high horse and accepted that “Gwenny” had done a runner out of the back door.

I heard a loud knocking on the kitchen door followed by senior management saying “Is there anybody there???” over and over again. It transpired that she was refusing to go into the kitchen unless she was certain that “Gwenny” really had left for the night. What was she expecting??? “Gwenny” to say “It’s OK, you can come in now, I’m just leaving.”

Needless to say, collapsing in fits of laughter wasn’t perhaps my best or safest option.
