No point putting a cat on the trap, it has to be peanut butter

What I cant understand is PB starting a new thread about the mouse and not telling everyone, I only came across this one while browsing, it was a great shock as I was following the exploits of Gwenny with such interest
Sorry about that ‘Single Fem’ …. the first “Gwenny” thread got somewhat sidetracked with arguments and spam etc ……. so I thought a fresh thread was the way forward.
30 May, 2008 at 2:40 pm #338817For those who’ve recommended getting a cat …FORGET IT !!!
I really detest cats – especially the neighbour’s cat – ‘cos they always seem to choose my garden in which to have a shit. Horrid freal beasts. Give me a dog any day (especially Labradors).
Gwenny on the other hand seems to be a nice clean little mouse – almost houseproud. She doesn’t smell, she doesn’t try to pinch tidbits from the kitchen when nobody is around….
….and the best bit is that she affords me hours of ‘innocent’ entertainment.
BTW – advice needed people. The traps have been out nearly 24 hours now, each one suitably baited with a dollop of my favourite organic crunchy peanut butter. What has happened???
NOTHING … that’s what. Gwenny has appeared to turn up her nose at the peanut butter.
So??? Am I doing this correctly and should I just be patient …. or what???
30 May, 2008 at 3:02 pm #338818Well then theres your answer PB…go down to Battersea dogs home. There,s bound to be some nice cute little doggy sitting there, all forlornly, just waiting for someone to take him home. You can take him for walkies every day, (you,d enjoy that  ) and in return, he can scare the crap out of poor innocent sweet little Gwenny. Sorted!!
Failing all that, try putting cheese on the trap. My Dad used to do that when we were kids, worked every time……….SNAP!!
Poor Gwenny.30 May, 2008 at 3:14 pm #338819Havin read both threads on lil Gwenny and bein a mouse and rat lover i do find it really amusing when ppl panic at the sight of them.
Now as for feeding them cheese your all just nasty I know you want rid of Gwenny but pls give her something nice to chew on before she goes to mouse heaven, cheese is poisonus to mice and rats as is peanuts  !!!!! try a lil chocolate spread they come for miles for a lil lick of that.
A lil message for PB’s daughter….. I got a spare cage and tank if you wish to keep lil Gwenny but alas she will only live for about 18 months.
Just a thought have you seen her lately as she could of passed away knowing Senior Management will be giving PB servere grief until she is found!!

This thought did occur to me….. but senior management has been really nice today. Mind you, it makes me damned suspicious when this happens – is it a smile or is she getting ready to bite??? Scares me sometimes – so think what it might do to a poor little defenceless mouse???
Gwenny might of course have been listening yesterday evening, as I was getting my final instructions, and (if she’s sensible) might have gone into hiding.
Then again, it could be that daughter’s notices plastered all over the place have had some effect.
I shall renew the special organic crunchy peanut butter with an even larger dollop per trap and await developments.
30 May, 2008 at 5:58 pm #338821“gwen” has obviously decided she doesnt like living with ar.seholes and has gone to live elsewhere
30 May, 2008 at 6:31 pm #338822They only come out when they are thirsty. Wait for 2 days of warm weather. You also have to put traps next to wall, They got crap eyesight thats why rodents allways run around the edge of the room and they allways use the same route. Put the peanut on thinly of they will just nibble the top, You need to get it licking. Oh and they are breeding this time of year thats why so prob why you been seeing it a lot its looking for nesting materail and food. The first babies should be ready about now. Need to kill it quick while the babies are still relying on mother for food or you will be overrun with them
30 May, 2008 at 6:40 pm #338823great advice..starve the babies, hope you can live with yourself
