Ive got to do a project for work and I have left it till the last minute. Ive got a load of stuff saved on a floppy disc which I have brought home. Mind you the computer that I saved it from runs Windows BC :P (very old). Its all in microsoft word. When I put the disc in my system it wont load or open and the only option I get is to format it.

Obviously I dont want to do that, as it will wipe all the data off that I want to access and update!

Any ideas? Ive got to have it done by next week, and Im in a bit of a dilema!! :(

(Ive tried run > a: and it still gives the same response… format.
Ive tried right click my computer, open a: and same again).

It sounds as though your floppy has been corrupted. If your home PC won’t open it then basically your screwed.

Best thing is to take it back to work and either unload the contents back onto the work PC and then format the floppy and reload it with the same content

OR/ load the stuff onto another pre-formatted floppy

OR/ email the stuff to yourself from work in the form of attachments that you can open and save

OR/ copy the stuff onto a different media like a memory stick.
