A truly prodigious talent.
From his first high profile outing in the much undervalued The Patriot and his great turn in the wonderful A Knight’s Tale – to the brooding, self destructive (and what some may see now as prophetic) role in Monsters Ball and his truly outstanding performance in Brokeback Mountain..
This lad was a very fine actor very much on the rise.The clips I’ve seen of him in the soon to be released Batman sequel The Dark Night look excellent.
Whilst the question of celebrity excess will no doubt rear it’s head and whilst it is almost inevitable now that he will join the mythical pantheon of great young Hollywood martyrs such as James Dean and River Phoenix ; one can’t help but lament the tragedy of it all.
The loss of a great acting potential.

Maybe he wanted to kill himself because he was depressed, being young, rich anf famous messes your head up. Look at Britney Spears she is going down the same road – personally i feel sorry for anybody who think the only way to happiness is being dead.
What a waste of life.I cant believe that someone with such a blossoming career can go and do something like that. Surely his hangers on and family must have noticed something? Apparently he was on sleeping pills to help with the seperation from his wog <– wife or girlfriend -Delete as applicable. With a young child in his life he has gone and done a very selfish thing.
too many sleeping pills. Arent they as addictive as any illegal drug nowadays?
Too many people reach for pills as solutions these days.
