….. and I expect that the law abiding citizens of Chandlers Ford, who were protected by the Police presence today, would NOT be amongst those wanting to question the police actions.

It sure isn’t Dodge City – it is Chandlers Ford, a sleepy little village near Southampton and the locals sure don’t expect two (or maybe more??) armed criminals to ride into town and attempt to shoot up the Bank.

Apart from anything else … it saves us all the expense of a trial and the costs of a long prison sentence.

    Police 2 – Criminals 0

Why would i be jealouse ? ive been in some rather bad situations in my lifetime but never ever even thought of robbery as a career choice, if i wanted to do that id have been a solicitor or an estate agent ffs, and yes robbers ARE ALWAYS SCUM i dont give a toss if they do have a kid with a dodgy kidney… so have thousands of other parents. the chances are they need more cash to buy more drugs to deal. or to raise the cash for a 4×4 to ramraid some fancy designer shop for a new shirt. they got exactly what they were prepared to give out an i wont be wringing my hankie over em whoever they are and whatever their sad pathetic story is.[/quote]

I imagine you have been in some rather tense situations, im sure the boy in the dinner line wanting to take your dinner money has left an emotional scar.
Robbers are not always scum, will never be always scum. To presume they wanted to rob a bank to buy MORE drugs is scandalous as there is no evidence to suggest they was even involved in drugs. I do how however see your point that they might of wanted to buy a new 4×4, to which im very much against, very non enviromentally friendly and would maybe leave them feeling guilty for having such a carbon footprint. Oh and im against them buying expensive shirts some person in india was paid 50p an hour to make, thats a disgrace!
Tthere is also no evidence to suggest they was prepared to use those fire-arms, i think you will find it is getting more and more that way and they are used only for display purposes, as it tends to have better impact than walking in there saying please can you give me some money.
As to your last statement about their sad story and you not caring about it…..remind me, who made this thread again?

from what I heard it was an attack on a securicor van. The robbers must’ve been thick, I thought everyone knew that securicor cases which contain money also contain a dye which is activated if the case is taken outside a certain radius.

And as for a few of them being shot and killed, maybe this will deter other people from committing such crimes. Securicor vans are often seen as a soft target, its about time the police got tough on these people.

Well you’d think so, but I am sure there will be some ardent left winger somewhere claiming that stopping someone from committing a crime is an infringement of their human rights
