Have you got house insurance? that would cover the price of food and fridge
14 November, 2006 at 10:55 am #248666Oh !!! So it’s insurance fraud we’re suggesting now is it???
Right so you commit a criminally negligent act, endanger the entire human race, and then claim on an insurance policy. Yeah, that’s just great. Meanwhile everybody else has to pay higher premiums because one homicidal maniac armed with a bloody great knife stabs a fridge freezer to death. Terrific !!!!!!!

I had a day off today, so thought I would defrost the “frost free” (yer right) fridgefreezer.
So I had a small blow-heater in front of it and my great big carving knife and some hot water in bowls and off I went. Once it got a bit melted I started my hacking….. wrong move. Ive done it loads of times before, but I took one fowl swoop and all of a sudden there was this hissing noise………….
Of course it was switched off at the time, but I think all the gas or whatever it is in there has completely gone. Ive got it all switched on, the lights are on in the fridge but neither the fridge or freezer are getting cold. :?
I wouldnt mind but we have not been proper shopping for ages and we went today and spent 40 quid purely on frozen stuff that is now starting to get soggy!!
Its just my luck really. So, what do you reckon, should I cut my losses and try and get a cheapo new/2nd hand one from ebay (which is all I could afford), or should I get it repaired…. could it be repaired? :?: :?: :?:
Lmfao Essex says most of it but bet your blonde too ( yep its buggered )
14 November, 2006 at 7:48 pm #248668You better cart me off now, looks like Im responsible for all the worlds problems…!!!!!
My mates lending me one, hopefully getting it tomorrow.
Talking of fly tipping, there was one down a cycle track near us for about 6 months and its gone now, so there is space for another.. hmmmmm!!!!!!
Yep Hugo, Very blond and Very Essex lol!! 8)
14 November, 2006 at 8:01 pm #248669At least you had a valid reason for yer fridge-assassination Shazza..trying to defrost it. Many years ago my hubby came home from work to discover I had painted our fridge-freezer with royal-blue gloss paint. It was streaky and tacky and..um..very blue. I had a nasty habit of painting anything that stood still for more than five minutes and was lethal with a staple-gun and old fabric remnants. We had the only green labrador in a frock
14 November, 2006 at 8:02 pm #248670Have you thought of letting it? I understand there’s a shortage of compact homes in the south. You may be able to buy one of those walk-in ones with the rent. Just a thought.
If you do decide to fly tip it make sure the door’s not left on I lost a cousin once for three days after playing hide and seek it didn’t matter too much he was Welsh.14 November, 2006 at 8:04 pm #248671@langstraat wrote:

15 November, 2006 at 9:37 am #248673Alan, what a splendid solution, why didn’t I think of that. I could get a friend to come round with one of his Hummer’s to remove mine to the local park before Ken Livingston’s congestion charges come into force.
I suspect you may have similar views to me regarding the state of the planet and pending doom put about by the media. I take a slightly different perspective to the masses and personally welcome the continued warming up of the planet. I’ve been able to reduce the quantity of fuel required to get me through the winter each year. We no longer have such long cold periods that we used to; which is nice. Any reduction in the number of mornings when an aerosol of de icer is needed will more than cover that expended in freon from disposed fridge freezers.
Getting back to your unique cleaning solution, the next time you need to exchange units please give me a call. I’ve done a deal with Iceland (the company not the country) to supply fridge freezer fully filled with delectable dish’s including the celebrated Sarah Lee Range of Desserts and Linda McCartney’s Vegetarian entree’s. I’m hoping to clinch a special offer by Xmas to provide a BOGOF deal which should keep the steel mills of Shanghai running for a while producing the metal components whilst Brazil manages the plastic items. You’ll be pleased to hear I’ve managed to overcome the problems we had with our new vacuum cleaner; you remember the new Ball Dyson whose electric cable failed to reach into the corners when plugged into the hall socket. We now have a vac in each room which saves carrying it about you see there is always a solution to the problems that modern living exposes I don’t know what all the fuss is about do you. As the ice caps continue to melt the extra water can be shared out better to those who are less fortunate than ourselves hey, as long as I can still have a block or two in my G&T I’ll be happy.
Cheers….
16 November, 2006 at 6:34 am #248674in my opinion the planets been warming up for millions of years weve had 1 ice age and it dissapeared so the dinosaurs are responsible for global warming and not us
