Well not necessarily Mr B. I apologise to you for not being an ‘apologist’ for the Palestinian cause and also for perhaps sympathising with the Israeli side of things. You have your view and you’re entitled to it.
I am afraid that I cannot get over excited with the historical aspect of all this. It seems to me that for every fact or argument put forward on one side there seems to be a counter point put on behalf of the other side. Both sides are right and the other side is wrong anyway.
Why did you kill my people today…. because your lot killed my people yesterday…. yes but that was because your lot killed my people the day before and so on and so forth. Well why not just stop killing the other side right now…. well we won’t stop until they do….. yes but they won’t stop until you do…. yes but we won’t stop until………………… etc etc.
Well why not just let them have the land they want which they say is theirs anyway….. because it’s not theirs it’s ours…. but they got there first….. no they didn’t we were there in 200 BC…. no you wern’t, they were there in 500BC…. no they wern’t, we were there in ……etc etc.
So sorry if my posts appear somewhat frivolous Mr B but I lost interest many many years ago in the rights and wrongs of this stupid childish squabble. Neither side is going to give in or accept the other, so my view is to simply let them get on with it and fight each other to the death. Sooner or later one side will slaughter all of the other and matters will no doubt rest there.
I do have a sneaking regard for the Israelis. They don’t ponce about mouthing off about how hard they are. If you mess with them they take you out. This is a language that terrorist murderers seem to understand.
Well I find it hard to take you seriously because all your posts seem to be over the top. My point is simple – Palestinians are entitled to freedom and human rights. Israel is obliged under international law to remove its settlements from Arab territory and hand back the occupied territories to the arabs. Your opinion about palestinian militant groups is irrelevant because it has no bearing upon the entitlement to human rights and liberty of the Palestinian population. Anyway, all this self-righteous posturing about terrorism is nonsensical if you defend the state terror carried out by the Israeli government. Collective punishment is a war crime so there is no excuse for persecuting and killing innocent civilians. As I said before, either you believe in human rights or you don’t and if you don’t then you’re not much better than the people you condemn.
16 June, 2006 at 10:14 pm #224826To be totally fair they should hang all Palestinians as well – assumnig that there is such a thing as a ”Palestinian”.
17 June, 2006 at 7:24 pm #224827Well the Palestinians are being oppressed by the Israeli government and military. So you can’t blame me for speaking the truth. Of course though, conservatives were never too keen on freedom. Thatcher opposed the ANC, she supported saddam, and she is a good friend of General Pinochet like the rest of the Tory party. The tories are a backward party with a fondness for the days of empire, so naturally they’re not bothered about a bunch of arabs being persecuted. They probably admire the colonial rule of the Israelis over the Palestinians.
18 June, 2006 at 11:56 am #224828So every palestinian is a terrorist? That must mean that every Tory is a sex-maniac, a crook or a liar e.g. Shirley Porter, Jeffrey Archer, Jonathan Aitken, cecil parkinson, harvey procter, neil hamilton, etc. Yes, the conservative party must be full of degenerates and criminals and let’s not forget John selwyn gummer trying to posion the public by misleading us about BSE. Let’s not deal with these Tories on an individual basis. They’re obviously a bunch of scoundrels and ne’er-do-wells and the sooner we string ’em up the better it will be for Britain.
18 June, 2006 at 12:11 pm #224829What a wonderful sight alongside all the present Labour front bench.
20 June, 2006 at 12:35 pm #224830I didn’t say anything about getting rid of Jews. There are Jews in Britain and in Israel who oppose the brutality of the Occupation. There are even Israeli soldiers who have gone to prison because they refused to take part in the oppression of the palestinian people. The peace movement in Israel wants to remove all settlements and create 2 states living side by side. Even militant groups linked to Fatah have accepted this idea. An end to the occupation would allow a peace deal between Israel and the Arab League. The Saudis proposed a peace plan which was accepted by the entire Arab League and the only thing stopping its implementation is Israel’s refusal to end the occupation or even to negotiate.
The Israeli government has been very successful in misleading people about what’s really going on over there. So people assume that the saintly and peace-loving Israeli government is under siege from savage Arab barbarians, when in fact it’s the Israelis who are stealing more and more of the Arabs’ land.
20 June, 2006 at 1:08 pm #224831Oh right….. and Hamas isn’t committed to the total destruction of Israel at all is it? Sure…. and Hamas isn’t branded a terrorist organisation by just about every non-Arab country in the world. no of course it isn’t.
With a bit of luck and a fair wind, the Palestinians will fire off one too many Quassam rockets and murder one too many Jewish babies and Israel will move in and flatten them once and for all.
THAT will settle the matter.
20 June, 2006 at 1:20 pm #224832I agree Tommy, and let’s face it the Israelis actually do something with their miserable bit of land – you know as in cultivate it, grow crops, make things, stuff like that.
They are a successful industrious nation and won’t take crap from anybody.
Compare them with the so-called Palestinians who are forever killing each other; fomenting unrest and terrorism; whingeing and moaning all the time about how unfair it is and how Israel has taken all their sweeties; how their human rights have been infringed; how the West doesn’t give them enough in handouts to buy more arms and explosives.
Perhaps if they buckled down to doing a decent day’s work they might have built themselves a nation by now.
20 June, 2006 at 1:36 pm #224833Maybe they could be asked to build another wall between N & S Korea like the one they are building to keep the Palestinians inside their ghettos.
BTW it’s a bloody good idea that isn’t it? The murdering terrorists can’t get over it so they can stay on their side and kill each other – as they usually do.
20 June, 2006 at 10:40 pm #224834Mind you its only the fact that the palestinians have no army to defend itself, no tanks, no air force, only a few individuals sacrificing themselves,
Maybe if we supplied them with all the weapons to even the odds, it could be fun, launching a few really big missiles into Israel, make a much bigger impact than one little bloke with a few sticks of explosive. :P
