Glasgow was once the knife capital of Europe until huge resources and funding were pumped into dealing with the issue. The World Health Organisation in 2005 named Glasgow the murder capital of Europe and it took 10 years + to tackle it successfully.

Of course though, when it is a predominantly “white gang” problem, sourcing the relevant resources and funding is not a problem at all and it also does demonstrate long prison sentences, and getting thrown against a wall to be searched doesn’t solve anything at all in the long term and in fact as you said it is getting worse.
