Funnily enough someone told me today that purple is the colour used to represent the war dead…never heard that one before but the trees and shrubs in one of our local parks have been festooned with purple ribbon for a charity event (“purple pinky” is the theme for the polio charity) and some of the elderly find it upsetting apparently…
(hangs purple dress up in wardrobe and puts purple shoes back in their box, keeps the red hat on :P )
