If you have a pretty coloured bottle that you may have found walking, or a bottle you kept for nostalgic reasons etc, or even a wine bottle, if you arrange these very cheap battery (rechargeable) powered fairy lights inside the bottle, they make a great light for the kids room, or for ambiance in a snug, or man cave etc. Or in sets of different colours on a fire hearth.

Second tip (eBay again, my fave)

If you have a blackout blind in a bedroom and don’t want to hang heavy blinds as well because it is a minimalist look, add a couple of these beaded curtains to frame the window, which gives the room a more exotic feel and a warmer glow.

also talking about goldfish bowls, pouring just the right amount of gin in the bowl makes the fishes eyes bulge and cause them to swim in an amusing manner.

Aldi’s do a brilliant bag of curry for two at £3.49!!! You get a tikka masala and a jalfrezi which is suitably hot (even for me). Two portions of rice and two naan which my friend particularly likes (with a bit of butter on).

Portion size is spot on too !

You can freeze it too !

Saves us sending out for one costing £20 to be delivered on a Friday night!

Whenever you go on holiday abroad always take a photo copy of your passport. If you happen to lose it like I did while in Rome it will help speed up the process of getting an emergency travel document.
