oh like a bit gravy with a meat and potato pie.. we do not get them in Scotland, lots of black pepper too.. I am more a salt and vinegar beastie :) . I notice the young ones like cheese n chips.. oh ffs.. rather have me gravy when I’m in England..

I rarely have chips so wouldn’t ruin it with gravy!….and I also tried curry sauce for the first time a while back…..was ok but I will stick to fish n chips with tomato ketchup 👌

surely you would get a better bag of chips in southend then bury? liked burys ground I rember one of burys main singers had long hair and a bat man t shirt and for 90 minutes we sang bury got a bat man fan la la la

I used to go to…oh hang on I don’t really know where im going with this thread tbh,erm…. ffs,oh yeh yeh I used to go to chippies a lot but I don’t now ,well I do now and again on my travels,when im home im more of a micro meal man,im single if I want to slop it on my pyjamas I will,nowt to do with youse lot
but aaaah bisto,the nostalgia days, yeh going to the chippy man. I used to always volunteer to go to the chippy,cos that way id buy an extra portion of chips to eat surreptitiously on the way home.
what else erm ? oh yeh did anybody used to ask for scraps,they were like dead fish bits but tasty and filled you up oh tell you what else was free pea juice on yer chips

There’s a guy works down the chip shop …. Swears he’s Elvis.
Incidentally chippy tea doesn’t taste the same since they banned em being wrapped in newspaper to my mind. A polystyrene cone just doesn’t do it.

Yeah newspaper was the best, especially if the top sheet they were wrapped in was page 3, the mind worked wonders as a kid walking home with the parcel from the chippy
As for cones, the chips at the bottom always end up soggy from the vinegar
