Do you think it was wrong or right to build a glass floored walk way over looking the grand kanyon
as requested :D
Post a piccy UGO – so that our intrepid pollsters can see what they are (not) voting on.
Although I would be too freaked out to use it, I think it’s good that people have the option. I don’t think it spoils nature as much as cars and litter in the area has. People being able to experience a glass walk out might even learn to appreciate nature even more. It would scare the hell out of me to be out there.
According to today’s press release it projects some 80 feet out over the edge and the drop to the canyon floor is ….. 4,000 feet !!!
That is one helluva long way down – especially if you have vertigo.
Problem seems to be that the development has gone off half-cocked. The roadway leading up to this attraction is unfinished and the last few miles is over a rough stony track. There was also supposed to be a visitor’s centre with cafe’s and refreshments and shops etc.
Apparently there is little if anything there, other that this viewing platform and a number of highly pissed off Indians complaining about the violation of their sacred ancestral burial grounds……. only in America eh???

So a suicide jumper would have say around 15 seconds or so to see the bottom coming up towards them as they fell.

It has sides & a roof on it ya know , Im sure they took this into consideration before building the monstrosity
Its Grand Canyon.
And i think its a total waste of metal and space. There are other means of seeing the canyon without spoiling the natural beauty of the whole area. Its disgusting. Whoever commisioned it should be shot. Whats its purpose? You can see much much more from a helicopter.
