Anyone else read it? I got it on Thursday (2 for £20 online) and I’m loving it. You don’t often get to hear referees telling their side of the story and it’s an insight into the FA and just how much influence players have. Then of course, there’s THAT game – the chapter I’m at now.

Some of it is a bit tedious, as all these sort of books are, but on the whole it’s a good read.

Does it mention his ex wife? Her sister used to be my boss and she told me a few golden nuggets Im not allowed to share!

As far as the book goes, I’m only aware of him being married to one woman – his current wife who he has three kids with.

So its an autobiography missing out the parts he doesnt want to talk about

Or maybe the parts that nobody’s interested in. Personally I think it’s a good thing, it’s his career that folk want to read about.

Yeah cos he was that good.

Joking aside I saw him being interviewed a while back on sky and it did remind me that some referees do have some human genes  he even showed some signs of a sense of humour.

I dont know huge amounts of his past, but I know enough to know he has one but dont we all.

I’d reccomend it Matty, he does go on a bit at times but he does come across as a genuine guy who admits to making genuine mistakes. How often do we get to hear referees talking about the FA or the big teams? Good from that point of view.
