the government this morning unveiled plans to limit the claiming of job seekers allowance to two years instead of the current no end rules. the idea is that if you refuse work after two years you will have to either do good works in the community or go hungry.
these rules will not, however stop foreigners from tracelling half way across the world for free housing education and health benefits. they will still be given houses etc and there will be no time limit. while i think the work idea could be a start. where do we draw the line with the rest ? are we going to continue to claim free everything for none brits while putting the lazy british in their place.? will the government send all the east europeans packing when the work runs out for the lazy brits or will we have a situation where the foreign workforce get the better paid jobs while the wasters we produce only get cleaning street jobs. {not that theres anything wrong with cleaning sttreets for a living.}i think this is a slippy situation were heading for here. and who in their right mind thought that the idle teens we have allowed to fester will actually get out of bed anyway ??? cant wait for this lot to kick off. :lol:8 January, 2008 at 1:28 pm #302058I think it’s a good idea as long as they provide training for the unemployed and encourage companies to take people on.
Im sick of this attitude of this government that British people are lazy. The miners went on strike to save their jobs across the country years ago, car plants going on strike to save their jobs, Wapping paper plant in London striking to save jobs and this government and the last stole theses jobs from people who wanted to work.8 January, 2008 at 2:11 pm #302059It’s a good idea in theory, but I can see it having nasty side effects on those who are unable to work, for example ill people, single mothers etc… Are these people excluded or included in these plans?
Its a good idea for the people who have been living of benefits for 20 odd years and are able to work, but for those who are unable to work its obviously a bad idea if they are to be included in these government ‘plans’

8 January, 2008 at 7:35 pm #302061As I understood it it was only going to effect claimers of JSA = People who are able to work, but have not got jobs at present. :?:

Oh no they havn’t, they cant, doing this would go against people’s european human rights that, get this, gordon bunker brown signed up for.
BUT, the important thing is, that millions of everyday folk will BELIEVE gordon bunker brown, because they are thick stupid retards.
No wonder we have a retarded government.

The is a very easy way around this which im sure many people would exploit the loophole, so you are claiming benefit for 103 weeks, just 1 week shy of the magic 2 years that you are allowed. Suddenly get a job for a week with an employment agency. So as you was working for 1 week you stopped claiming, then next week you make a new claim and hey presto here is a passport for another 2 years benefits.
I wonder how much money was spent on coming up with that solution that “wont work” pardon the pun :roll:9 January, 2008 at 8:15 pm #302066@anita Gofradump wrote:
