it says ‘ this device is working properly’
19 May, 2005 at 6:43 pm #111355OK, Your CD drive has a working driver.
Now go start>control panel>system. Now the system properties window should appear. Click on the tab that says hardware and click on the button that says device manager. When the device manager window opens scroll down on the list and click on the plus+ expansion button next to your CD drive. Now double click on your CD drive, the CD drive properties page should now appear, under device usage make sure this CD drive is enabled.
If you have have a red cross through your CD drive under device manager, it means your CD drive is in conflict. If there is no red cross present, i can only advice you to start the CD drive troubleshooter. You can enter the trouble shooter by double clicking on your CD drive whilst in the device manager window and selecting troubleshoot.
When you place a CD/DVD into your drive, does the autoplay feature work?
19 May, 2005 at 6:59 pm #111356yep the auto play thingy pops up :? :?
tried the troubleshooter n it says it’s a problem that troubleshooter cannot sort.
think i’ve totally uninstalled the software n thats the problem :(

Well Kentlass your CD/DVD drive is fine. But your saying the software? Do you mean your missing your software DVD player? (codec)?.

19 May, 2005 at 7:19 pm #111359OK lol you should of said your missing your DVD codec!!!
Download cyberlink power DVD 6 free trial version available here http://www.gocyberlink.com/multi/download/dl_file_new.jsp?ProdId=1.
And have this prog free on me by entering one of these license keys when prompted.
REMOVED
BTW Cyberlink 6 is the best DVD codec player available for playing your DVD’s you should be upgraded to the deluxe version. If these license keys fail give me a shout and i’ll get some more.

19 May, 2005 at 7:44 pm #111361No dont be sorry Kentlass i thought your CD/DVD drive had either a conflict or you had uninstalled or rolled back the driver.
Im glad you were only missing your DVD codec as this is ten times easier to fix.
Btw did those license keys unlock the trial to the deluxe version?

Hover your cursor over the download button, right click on the mouse and select save target as.
If this dont work it means there file server is down, try again later.
BTW you have got to enter some details in the form below the download button, just type any info in there except your own and then click on ‘download now’.
