I know Shepton, Pilton, West Pennard, Lydford, Bab-Cary, Street, Wells, Catcott,Cheddar I will be cycling through there this weekend so i’ll post some photo’s next week. Spoke to my brother’s wife yesterday about the congestion in Castle Cary…turns out, there’s a bus picks up Pilton ‘goers’ and takes them to the site so it doesn’t effect the town traffic wise.
The festival site is situated more or less, half way between Shepton- Mallett and Glastonbury……Must be a nightmare traffic wise. Nice hill going into Pilton..always enjoy climbing that one or coming down it depending on which way I go. I was brought up near Wraxhall Hill….Lol I used to get up that hill in tenth gear…no one will ever believe me if I said it was on a bike. Mind you , it was worth it for the sail down the other side. Any way…you said were feeling sick the other day, I assume your feeling better now?
Remind me pixie…when was the first year of Pilton?
If I’ve got time…no tour of Glastonbury is complete without a hike up the Tor.
1970 I believe, and there will be buses going in from various locations on sunday including Cheddar as locals tickets are for sunday.

In 1970, tickets were £1 each and people could drink as much milk as they liked. The Knks pulled out of the festival and T-Rex were taken in as the headline act. It lost 1500 pounds and was only brought back the next year due to an injection of cash by its supporters.
