You’ve got to understand that not everyone is mature at 24.
An argument can be made for 46 as being the legal age, with strict penalties for those who prey on the under-46’s.
Mind you, I think 46 may be a bit high, and I’m absolutely certain that 7 is too low. Isabella, Richard II’s wife, was a widow at 10. Talk about life on the fast track! The Planatgenet police were failing on the job, imho. Theresa May was probably in charge, and trying to offload the blame for the oversight on Amber Rudd.
