Interestingly though while I looked, Germany deals with paedophilia in a far more grown up manner than the “burn them at the stake” British, their system provides support and “treatment” to paedophiles well before any actual offense is committed and apparently is quite successful in cutting offending rates.
You can’t ‘treat’ paedophiles anymore than you can ‘treat’ homosexuals.

The Sexual Offences Act 2003 is the current law.

The scheme in Germany is voluntary and the clients identity is anonymous and protected by law. Paedophilia is classified as a mental illness suggesting treatment is possible and of course treatment is cheaper than the trauma the victims go through and cheaper than locking up the actual paedophile after an offense has been committed. All emotion aside, it makes perfect economic sense.

Not of medicine
So your not qualified to give an opinion whether treatment is suitable, or not. By the way the British government is interested in a similar scheme, as are others countries. There aren’t currently enough prisons in the UK to house all sexual offenders, obviously other avenues need to be explored for dealing with low grade offenders.

A quarter of a million Britons – more than one in every 200 adults – are paedophiles, according to figures released by Scotland Yard, the Telegraph reported in 2000.
In 2012/13, there were 18,915 sexual crimes against children under 16 recorded in England and Wales, according to the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). Included in that figure were 4,171 offences of sexual assault on a female child under 13 and 1,267 offences of sexual assault on under-13 male children.
In the UK, one in 20 children (4.8%) have experienced contact sexual abuse and over 90% of children who experienced sexual abuse, were abused by someone they know, NSPCC said.
A paedophile ring linked to Britain’s worst abuser Robert Smith, arrested in 2005, is ‘still at large’, the Herald

You can psychologicaly condition people to react negitively to certain stimuli, this isn’t something the British state should be doing to it’s citizens.
