anyone watch it last night, now i did, but only because of the 3rd place they were visiting..
as yrs ago my aunt n uncle went there and told us of it, i honestly didnt believe them..
catacombs in Palermo. which are home to the mummified remains of 8,000 people dating back to the 16th century.OMG it was so freaky and I thought rather in bad taste as its a tourist atraction now..!! and that little lass 2 yrold girl emtombed in 1920, who was still in tack… how other countries celebrate death… makes me still believe in cremation, i certainly wouldnt like to be viewed like that… to me it was unhumane and utter disgust….
so do you wish to be buried or cremated,….?? or would u like the idea of be hung up on walls in ur sunday best on display for others to view..???
5 September, 2008 at 11:37 am #369754Im getting buried.. my mother in law bought me a plot ! its a nice 3 person one up in Birkhill. surrounded by nature. There is an Inn nearby, that i shall haunt. I have offered my pal Karen space in this plot too.We want no overblown gestures, and plastic flowers, a simple crossbones of Whisky and Vodka bottles will suffice ;)
5 September, 2008 at 12:06 pm #369755been wondering lately whether, at my advanced age, I should be organising things

as fir funerals, well mine is bought and paid for, don’t wish anyone to organise mine as it widnae be 2 my liking… as fir keepin my ashes in a urn on the mantlepiece, well id haunted any sod who do that… creepy..!! once ur gone ur gone… no point dwelling life lives on….
5 September, 2008 at 1:07 pm #369758They call death “the big sleep,” and I hope they’re wrong, because I am not a restful sleeper, at all. I would prefer “The “Big Lounge,” where I could lounge around all day and look down at the clouds…being that I would be in heaven of course. LOL
Cremation might get one ready for hell, so that would be a good thing. I suppose for the more devious among us, we should prepare for that eventuality. We could say to the devil, “shyt, guy, this ain’t nothing compared to the heat from the crematorium.” I wonder, is hell an even-temperature, or can Satan turn things up a notch when he wants to be more of a bas-tard?
I want my family to plop me under a tree, where the birds can peck at my eyes, and my corpse will at least sustain some wee creatures. I suppose giving one’s organs up for transplant would be excellent, too. (Except the liver. See Wine thread :P )
You may have heard of the man Jeremy Bentham. He was well known for this quote: “It is the greatest good to the greatest number of people which is the measure of right and wrong.” He gave his body to medical science. According to his directions, after harvesting his innards, they put his bones back together, clothed the body, made a life-like wax head (the original being mummified) and placed it in a glass case, where it is still preserved in University College, London.

6 September, 2008 at 9:45 am #369759I want to be cremated. I’ve already told my family what i want to happen. Half my ashes to be scattered on my daughter’s grave and the rest of me wherever i end up, most likely in the wheelie bin knowing my lot!
