the last time i tried formatting a pc.. it had a restore pack so it was no problem, but this time i want to completly format a pc, i am pretty confident, but i remember last time i had a lot of trouble installing the cd drive from dos, now if i make a boot disc from the machine before i format, can this be used to load the cd drive afterwords.. once formatted?
i hope that makes sense…. i kind of play and learn as i go along
6 March, 2005 at 5:15 pm #105800Do you want to format PC then install windows ???
I have formatted a couple of PC’s with Windows 2000 and XP. 2000 I used a boot disk then run from CD, and formatted from there. With XP I ran this in windows then it said that the version on the CD is earlier than on the PC and I would need to reboot and run CD from there – which it did and then you can select format from that.
errrr hope that made sense……… :D
