A solution for the quiz room would surely be quiz starts at a certain time with a guide present and the room is locked. Any scrollers in there would be booted and unable to get back in. Alternatively (and some will object) you pay for access in the same way you pay to reserve your “name” somehow and the quiz room is set up thazt only those who have paid get in

I think actually the situation hasnt really been explained properly, of course we know how to use the iggy button, of course we know not to react to the scroller, just in this case non of the above were possible as it kept happening so quickly, shortly after the questions were asked, so (a) its not possible to get a guide that quickly and (b) its not possible to use the iggy button as the scroller comes in in different names and scrolls so quickly makes it impossible to carry on.
What is being said here is it is very difficult to find help quickly, i.e a chat guide. i do know guides give their time voluntary and for the most part do a good job too, but, it would be useful maybe for a small message in all the rooms if guides are off duty or very thin on the ground, to read ‘if you need a guide there is one in room……etc, or, have on guide on ‘call’ if that makes sense?
In an ideal world , it would be great if a guide could be in the room on quiz nights, but I know this isnt always possible. does Just Chat actually have enough guides?
I realise that JC has to have a certain calibre of people for guides but there are a lot of chatters who would make very good guides.
*coughs*
Cath you and I and the others know that almost every single quiz there is there is a guide present …. sometimes tho just sometimes they have to put themselves, their families and their own sanity first ….. hell some have even been known to take the odd holiday … shame on them eh ??
As for an on call guide eh that sounds fun….. yes pls give up your evening, weekend etc (voluntarily of course) and spend your entire time waiting in anticiaption for a row. Sorry husbands.wives, social life etc i cant go out tonight im sitting in waiting to see if someone kicks of in the chatroom.
Oh and pls make sure you dont get drunk waiting as this will surely not enhance your performance in you quest of chase the muppetHows about each and everyone of you that arent happy with the guides etc walk a mile in their shoes then come back with the answer
*Pls do not all rush at once form an orderly queue *

Guides on call eh Cath? So are they supposed to carry pagers or something like doctors do? Or perhaps they should be obliged to add users to their msn so that even when they are off duty, (yes OFF duty, shocking isn’t it?) a user can send them a message to ask for their assistance in dealing with the moron?
Some of you users are just the limit you really are. This job is VOLUNTARY, ie certain users give up their time, FREE OF CHARGE, to sit in the chat forums dealing with gonks and whinging moaning users. Some of them do way over their actuall shift time and what thanks do they get? God forbid they should actually get some gratitude.
I know it’s been said before and it will go on being said until the cows come home but you users could really help yourselves, (yes that’s right, help yourselves!! ) by NOT reacting when the abusive gonks start and using the IGNORE BUTTON.

I don’t believe that there is anything site admin can do to help.
A cursory look at the transcripts of the Quiz Room from 9.30pm onwards last Friday July 3rd , and at the failed results there of Chatguide action, would reveal the basic problem on that particular night out of many, and this has since been referred to, explained and detailed by at least five different posters since by my reckoning, on this and the Jadey thread.
I can only presume that the readiness of admin personnel to deride any comments as ‘moaning’, to offer useless advice, and to spout off on nonsensical tangents is because they actually have no idea as to how to help with this particular problem of one unbootable, cloning, abusive scroller, who spoils the enjoyment for so many.
.
Bangs head on the keyboard – the ChatGuide did stop the scroller Toy and stayed in the room for a while to help but with 370 chatters spread over 3 forums, was it reasonable to be asked to sit in a room with 10 people on the offchance they returned orrrrrrrr and think carefully about this one…………respond to another similar call for help from another forum where the scoller had moved to ???
Answers on a postcard……..
