And foxes do not kill for fun, only humans do that. Given the time foxes will take and store their prey. As for struggling farmers they appear to able to afford the poisons to kill birds of prey whether they be rare or not. It’s arrogance pure and simple. As for disease, what mange ? hardly a killer.
We battery farm, we kill for no reason we simply dont really care as a species

    quick death my arse

FFs not only was that extremely strange actions from hounds although i noticed there was only 2 which i believe is how they are allowed to hunt now so their is less of the pack instinct u have some effing muppet there probably making the dogs unsure what to do, as hounds are trained and respond to a human btw .. and indeed made that poor fox suffer even more by taking it away from what a hound can do and give a quick death and let it lie there dieing instead what a kind member of the League of Cruel Sports that was, they hardly threw their camera down and rushed to its aid did they… no just caused it more suffering. Due to the ignorance of this person for the probably only 20 secs the hounds had this poor creature in their mouth and another escape route being blocked by said person, in normal circumstances that shaking around the throat would have lasted abt 10 secs and been over. For me that person just emphasised why those anti cruelty people are idiots … oh and btw those LACS bods have no qualms in hurting hounds people or horses i might add!!

they go to earth they’re safe ?

In all honesty i dont know abt this, whether it is because they do infact have a “problem fox” and want to just get rid i dont know, but i actually agree with nemesis on this even if it is old if they go to earth they shouldnt be dug out

How anyone can condone that sort of thing is beyond me, mans arrogance in the belief they can do whatever they like astounds and disgusts me at times

i never said it was for fun i just said they massacre, and yes they probably would given time store the numerous things they kill, that doesnt help the farmer who has a devastated coop of dead chickens does it.
As for mange not being a killer, yes it can be and is responsible for alot of foxes deaths, domestic pets dont tend to die from it simply because we take them to the vet and have them treated but it can take weeks sometimes months to get rid of it and all that time the animal is suffering with it, but yes it is a killer!!

It kills foxes not wildlife mange is no reason to hunt foxes. Most foxes have no idea what a chicken looks like and as i’ve said spend more on preventing the fox getting at the chickens, (it aint that difficult) pass the cost on to the public

    i do like healthy debate

how long before some one says we shouldnt kill rats

Where the hell did u get the idea most foxes dont know what chcikens look like ?
was it a survey amongst the fox community  Foxes dont care what chickens look like they are meat they can be eaten

Because most chickens are battery chickens and are therefore pretty damn safe and given the number of foxes in the country and the number of available chickens it stands to reason most foxes will have never seen a chicken. And given we have put men on the moon, found the titanic etc is it beyond mans capabilities to keep a fox away from free range chickens ? I dont think so

    #432344

And battery chickens are simply another pointer to man’s arrogance and lack of morals
