Hmmm…one mans poison is another mans.. etc

Taken from a child of the 70’s who remembers my proud working class parents despair at the dead lying unburied, rubbish filling our streets, power cuts, wild cat strikes etc etc etc and finding someone who was prepared to stand up to a bullying left wing socialist agenda which held an entire country to ransom, I think she did a job she set out to do and did it very well- she turned Britain into a country worth investing in.

This country was brought kicking and screaming into the 20th century during the 80’s and it didnt like it one bit (nor does it now)

I do not deny the devastation the mining communities of South Wales, South Yorkshire, North Notts etc suffered, the shipbuilders of the Clyde, The Tyne and the Mersey, etc etc

But as the cotton industry collpased 100 years ago- not all the evil in the world is the fault of one person

She was a very divisive PM who did indeed divide families but ironically she was the instigator of the breakdown of the class system- without Thatcher, you wouldnt have had Blair- vast swathes of socially engineered brain washed communities suddenly started thinking for themselves instead of voting how their father, gradfather, greatgrandfather etc had

State funeral? Probably not but she was the right person, at the right time in the right job
    IMO

I’m glad you put “IMO” on the end of that.
Everybody is entitled to an opinion. Mine is the oipposite of yours on this subject and – to get back to the question that was posed ie should she be given a state funeral – my answer to that is NO.
Politicians have wreaked nothing but misery on this country for as long as I can remember. None moreso than Thatcher.
And if you think otherwise then you’ve lead a very blinkered life.

    IMO.

IMO i agree with Esme and Sir Actor.. she took the free meals and milk from kids that may or may not have been their only decent (ish) meal.. she was the scientist that discovered how to put air into margerine.. !

she destroyed housing by allowing the best stock of the houses to be sold off, depriving councils of rents and causing a division in once strong communities. she put NO money into rebuilding and laughed off the fact that she intended a “classless society ” as in we are all able to manage a mortgage etc. and IF ya cant,,then fvck ye .

she brought in more and more private hospitals, while halfing the budgets on basic cleaners etc. she privatised the rail as a profit making organisation.

Margaret Hilda was a rich woman of a millionaire hubby. she was voted in on the premise of ” a woman will KNOW the price of a loaf of bread” I was 19. margaret Hilda NEVER struggled, and she detested the non upper classes or and brought forth.. the fait middle classes !

    state funeral !! why ??

see ya on the beatches grave Essers !

    Rot in hell kunt !

    Well said.
Privitisation only benefitted Tory MPs such as Norman Tebbitt who lined his pockets by becoming a director of BT when it was sold off.
Thatcher was at best a fool – at worst incompetent.
