So… a question to QuintessentialParadox Are you actually Daniel Pipes? Or do you just quote him?? Just an innocent question from someone who isn’t privy to everybody’s real names, not even real Christian names, behind their jc names.
Are you sceptical guy .. does it really matter ? Its an internet site with us all having usernames, by day Ge is known as Ge , by night he becomes butch paul in leather restraints on pats chat or a number here trolling till dusk. Unlike hugs I don’t feel the need to report or complain as I see it for what it is
Sure, and we all try to guess when someone changes their name, for reasons good or bad.
We’re not always right, but that’s part of it.

I’ve argued these things with you a long while ago, I think. You confuse doctrine with practice, and you interpret doctrine very narrowly, as though there is only one way of understanding Islam.
There isn’t, and the quotes you gave a while ago now (quoting Daniel Pipes) turned out to be capable of different interpretations – eg jihad. Some people interpret them one way, but it was generally interpreted another.
I don’t like Islam, I don’t find it attractive, but the Muslims I’ve met can be very kind and considerate. They tolerate other faiths, and I tolerate theirs.
I don’t accept theirs, but I tolerate their faith. They are free to practise it, as long as it doesn’t conflict with the laws of a liberal society. They usually adapt quite successfully, though quite a few don’t.
Toleration of religion is one of the key freedoms for which our fathers and grandfathers fought, and for which many gave their lives.
Freedom to worship God in your own way, and freedom not to worship God, are the keystones of what I regard as a civilised society.

You are meeting these muslims in a non muslim environment , I suspect your experiences may alter if you were to go to muslim countries and there are very fine lines between practice and doctrine. You say they are free to practice it as long as it doesn’t conflict with the laws of our society but it does conflict with the laws of our society time and time again doesn’t it

Sometimes it’s perfectly natural to punish the majority because of the outrageous actions of a small minority. I gave two examples above. Here’s another.
Remember when you were at school and the whole class got punished with detention because 2 or 3 were unruly and disruptive and failed to heed the warning. That’s how it worked in my school. The remaining 20 odd “good kids” took it on ourselves to fix the problem so it didn’t keep happening.

Why then do you imply tolerance over a religion which advocates executing anyone that decides to worship God ” in their own way”? There was a survey done 2 years ago in the uk involving hundreds of thousands of muslims ( what you would call tolerant in the uk) with no links to terror etc known of

Hardly a tiny minority is it and conflicts with what you are saying

I’ve seen your pic Ge and am aware of your alias of ” butch paul ” on pats chat .. an ageing drunken old queen who actually suffered cardiac arrest a few years ago drinking himself slowly to death online fantasising about this Alfie character. I dont come here for months whilst you are here day after day bottle in hand screaming about middle age to younger men ( maybe some kind of fetish u have ? ) and Alfie . Lol. Dan, your “ive seen your pic” nonsense doesn’t work with me, never did. You just repeat the same lines over and over again and in room 2 you are a laughing stock, a little barking doggy who gets shooed away when you get too irritating.
