I love the way the words on this link talk about a British national anthem then show it all against the English flag :lol:
But seriously, I have been at the Royal Albert Hall on the Last Night of the Proms, and it is impossible to be there, hear this, and not have a lump in your throat…..almost made me as emotional as the Welsh national anthem does…. :wink:
I like ‘Land of Hope and Glory’, although I think it should be the new British national anthem, while Jerusalem would be more suitable as an English one.
It’s about time we ditched the dreary and vacuous anthem which requests a fictitious deity to save a hereditary monarch! It also has a verse that is thoroughly insulting to the Scots. It’s also true that Flower of Scotland, the Scottish national anthem, has a verse that is equally insulting to the English.

Yes … but the English are right, whereas the Scots are just a bunch of half pissed Jocks.
Hate the fact that the cheese-eating surrender monkeys have a much better anthem than us. La Marseillaise is a lot more bloody stirring than our dismal dirge with its rallying call for perpetual enslavement.
I’m not anti-monarchist, just glaring at the band a bit. At least the French have something to really inspire them as they run away from things.

land of hope n glory but wheres the hope and wheres the glory , jerusalam ???? isnt that in israel or sumet ? suprised we have a national anthem at all , soon theres ,ll be a multy cultured antham for britian , containing lyrics in french , polish , swede , dutch , african , iraq iran , israel , etc etc , and our flag will be a multy specked portaflecked symbol of wot we are
or in other words tictax, we’ll be officially American.
