But football is one of the few things that can give people local identity. And some passion in life. But like a lot of things, it has been ruined by marketing and money. Not multiculturalism, as some disgraceful people would have you believe. Supporting your local team is a weird kind of pleasure; mostly lots of downs and very few ups. Proper footballing support is when your team has beaten a top league side just once in the FA Cup and the whole town still remembers and talks about it. Rather like the Golden Gordon episode of Ripping Yarns!

now lets be honest here Cosy, the only reason you want your own thread over here is because the Liverpool fan over at Pats had you banged to rights.
He out smarted you at every corner and he didnt need to resort to insults like you did.

Now suck it up and get back across the road, some of the others are given out – its your turn at Cludeo.

No idea why you should support a team just because it’s local.

I know people do, and but I don’t know why.

What if the local team is useless and boring?

Mind you, I was once dragged to a match between Liverpool and Manchester City, and found that useless and boring.

You don’t support crime because it’s local, do you??

    Well, some here may.
