They don’t give up, do they! The furhrer of food fascism, Gordon ‘F**king’ you-know-who, has been bending the ear of the prime minister. Apparently he wants the government to introduce fines for restaurants that serve out-of-season fruit and vegetables.
For years the food fascists have been trying to get us to eat MORE fruit and vegetables. Honestly, can’t they even make up their minds?
I wonder if this self-important aspiring alpha male used the F-word when he was talking to the prime minister.
9 May, 2008 at 9:09 am #334138Since all this hoo-ha is about air miles and the environment, has the Chefalissimo given up his gas guzzling high-performance cars? Or is it only food that we need to be all greeny-weeny about?
12 May, 2008 at 12:51 pm #334139buy local, buy fresh and buy in season. problem solved.
12 May, 2008 at 1:30 pm #334140I’m sure that the great Gordon (Ramsey) when speaking to the less great Gordon (Brown), most probably said it all for us if he prefaced his comments with “Look Gordon you ****ing c*nt faced b*stard, pull your f***ing finger out and get on with it.”
That aside, he’s not a bad cook is he? (Ramsey that is … not Brown).

13 May, 2008 at 5:55 am #334143Actually, I quite like Gordon Ramsey’s style. I was given his autobiography for Christmas and read it on Christmas Day in one go ….. it was really fascinating and provides a very good insight into his character.
Behind all the effing and blinding, there lurks a very clever and incisive business brain. If you watch his “F” Word series – amongst others – he rapidly diagnoses whatt’s wrong with restuarants in business terms and implements a fix that (usually) works.
It’s one thing being able to cook to an amazingly high standard, but what comes across to me is that he has a clear understanding of what makes a restuarant business really work, as well as a detailed knowledge of food and ingredients in all their forms.
